black. It is tan right now and I want to, piece by piece, purchase by purchase, convert it to black. Any suggestiongs on types of paint? Jimmz--I know you just got your door panels painted recently.

I work at Autozone and I know we carry paint for "frabic and vinyl" and other interior paints. I have no personal experience with these but I'd pick up a can and test is out some where where you can't see it for instance under the drivers side dash.

The vinyl paint works pretty good. But if you want OEM pieces try, http://www.stangparts.com/. They have good quality 'take off' parts!

Alright, cool. I'm gonna pick up some black paint and a lot of clear. I'll post pics when I'm done painting. I can't wait, I'm gonn have a two tone black and tan interior, hopefully it will be eventually all black :D

They'll match the paint from your car and itll look awesome with the clear coat and everything, cuz you'll even get the metallic flake in the paint. Just make sure they prep it right and use primer. It should cost around 50 bucks to do both, i got mine done for free but he told me thats how much he'd charge which isnt bad. You wont be dissapointed. Dont use the crap they have at kragen or autozone theres no comparison to how it looks, and it wont melt or anything. Mine doesnt even feel like plastic, it feels like the exterior of my car!

I don't recommend doing it yourself especially since you havent done it before. You might be spending more money on fixing it IF you mess up than just paying a few extra dollars getting it done the RIGHT WAY. thats the best advice I can give you.... hope everything works out

I have heard that Dyeing them is the best way to do it. No paint, just same old plastic...treat it like plastic, still looks like plastic. Can be matched with the outside. I tried the Plasti-Kote (Spelling?) and it softened up after a few weeks...not good stuff. Good luck

hey jonbeast, if you have tan leather that is in very good conditionin your car and are doing a whole tan to black switch then i would be interested in buying the seats off of you. mine are cracked and worn in the front.

I know a guy who could prolly hook me up, I'm thinking about just getting OEM replacement black door bezels. I'll have to compare pricing, thanks for the imput.

Yeah man it would look awesome in black too!! especially because youll have the metallic flake in them too! just have them paint it OEM ford black, it looks soo good the clear coat really sets it off ;) If I were you Id just do the door jamz and the center piece that goes along your ac vents all the way down to you shifter. Then see how you like it because anymore MIGHT be too much, so just see how you like it, im getting the center piece done as well, but like i said before i got it done for free along with my front bumper and I didnt want to take advantage of the guy so Im gonna wait a little while so he doesnt think im spoiled lol

I agree, I think with some black seats and black door bezels it will look sweet. I found some door panels on ebay for real cheap, im gonna hit the junkyards and see what I can find. Anyone wanna trade back leather seats for tan?? 1994mustang...I will sell you my seats If I can pick up some black ones.

its true that you may not want to do it if its your first time..but it was mine too, and im only 17...came out beautifully!
under 20 bucks for everything...i dunno how you were gonna get it for 50 bucks..i got quoted 70 bucks per bezel..and that was the lowest i found out of 4 stores!

What do you guys think about covering intrerior pieces with Vinyl. My friend did some things in his car and it looks awesome. He said he could do my door panels for me. He said it would come out better than trying to paint it ourselves, which is now out of the question. So I am going to this local junkyard this weekend to try to find some black door panels, if not we are going to cover parts in black vinyl. Sound like a good idea? I wish I had pics, it looks sweet. Hes done it to his visors and door panels.

i like it! you might wanna consider a replacement carpet (black) not sure how well it would look but they keep clean a lot better. my interior is grey and the stock carpet was also, i put in the black carpet a couple weeks ago, looks so much better now. just need to get that passenger side bolt removed so i can finish it though [:@]

No, my car is entirely black -- interior, exterior and convertible roof. I have ridden in lots of cars that were two toned and just didn't like it.

Get an FR500 Steering Wheel (keeping the center and column tan. I really like the doors and carpet but I don't like the AC Vent painted black.

i painted mine by myself and i think its turning out great. decided to do it cause of the terrible shape the interior was in when i bought it.
