So, I got my new issue of Car & Driver today. And the cover caught my eye, has the new 2010 mustang, same basic body style. But they claim the 2011 model will have a 6.2L 400bhp V8.
Assuming the weight is about the same as the current S197. This thing could seriously compete with the new Z28. Hard to guestimate a 1/4 time as we dont know everything thats changed, but it looks like a 12 second car.
Any thoughts?

Well, larger displacement is what everyones been asking for in a Ford.
I'm just not sure Ford will do it, they've been known for being underdogs with smaller displacement, a 6.2L Behemoth would kind of undermind that style of sales. Keep in mind CAFE regulations are coming up fast, and having a huge displacement engine only for a few years would be kind of pointless(I'm talking about you, Dodge). I think a 5.0, 5.4, or 5.8 would be more up Ford's alley.

RE: 2010 Mustang
I was thinking about buying the camaro next year but I might hold out for the mustang now. If you can get a 400Hp mustang for close to what a GT goes for today, I'm in where do I sign?

lmao, so much for my credibility. Anyway, I took some pics of the magazine for you guys. You cant read the article becuase its too small, but you can clearly see on the cover "6.2-LITER 400-HP V-8"

I find it hard to believe Ford would put that in a production car. They never appear to be all that concerned with performance.
Ford GT or almost anything to pass through SVT ring any bells to you? Guess not...
That's all well & good, but those are limited (relative) production run cars. Not the droves of Mustang GT's and V6's that you see on the road. Know what I mean.

I stand corrected. But I was really aiming for scarcasm, guess I should have put in one of these: [8D]
