Default Me v. G35 = total domination

I was on my way to my second to last final exam ever and was getting onto the last section of highway before my turn off. I catch up to this silver G35 (although it had the Skyline badge as well as a 350Z GT badge) and it had a big dent in the driver's side of the car. I'm thinking, oh boy, here we go. Well, as I get closer I hear it's exhaust and it sounded pretty good. I was behind him, and some beat up Eclipse was behind me. We get off the wrap-around on-ramp and traffic is open and the guy punches it. I figured he would so I was in 2nd gear just waiting for him.

He nails it and a bunch of black smoke comes out of his exhaust. I heasitate because I thought he just messed up his car, but he seemed to take off all right so I nailed it. I'm right on his rear bumper just as I shift to third and I had to hit the brakes to keep from getting into his trunk. He kept running, but he wasn't getting anywhere. I had to keep letting off or I was going to end up giving him a nudge. Ended up being about a 20 - 105 run. Didn't want to get around him as there was some traffic up ahead in the lane next to us and I figured it was easier to just stay behind him.

As we approach the traffic we slow down and I pull up next to him. Guy ended up being pretty cool. Had a surprised look on his face, asked "What do you have done to that thing!?" Told him, just some bolt ons. Gave each other the tumbs up and that would have been it. We went one more time from side-by-side from about 50 - 100. I downshifted to third and punched it, ran away from him. Slowed down, gave another nod and that was it.

Oh, and the Eclipse was left way behind.

Thanks. But all that smoke makes me wonder if it was running right. It just seemed too easy, especially from a roll. But then again, I don't know what year it was either.

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction.

Yeah, that's possible. I was just surprised because my car really isn't set up to play around from a roll. The old girl felt pretty strong though.

I wasn't there so I can't comment about the smoke, but don't most cars puff out a quick burst of smoke when you dump on it? Almost every car I see take off in front of me does that. Either that's normal, or it's because I live in a hick area and all the cars suck

Awesome race! I always look forward to Sinister stories as it brings me back to the days of living in South Florida. Looks like you can add a Skyline, ummmmm 350Z, errrrrr G35 to your kill list[8D]

Btw, LOL @ the eclipse!

The shop were I go to get work done had two g37s up there badged with the skyline **** on the back. They looked sweet, but I don't understand why anyone would do that. Anyhow, I guess they'll be able to back the badges since I was talking with one of the dudes who works there and he said they had built blocks and were running twin turbos in the mid 500 whp range. Hopefully I'll catch one on the highway one day to see if I can hang.

Haha, I'm glad it wasn't one like that. It would have still been domination, but the roles would have been reversed.
