I don't know if it's just my town or what, but some days I never see a cop while cruising around. On other days I see them all over the place. Just an observation. Maybe there is an officer that can explain why.

I see them a lot on any of the days at the end of the month, probably trying to meet their quotas [&:]

i don't care how many stories in the news there are about "the police force does not use a quota system" ...there is DEF a difference...right around the beginning and then at the very end of the month the 5-0 is out in full force...rest of the time, you'll never see one...that's been my observation anyway

Local cops, i don't pay attention to them.. They come to visit me once in a while to bs with me or my dad..

State Troopers, thats a diff ball game.. I travel 40 miles ONE WAY every day that i go to work.. Mondays-Weds, not to bad.. Thurs, i see one or two.. Fri, Sat, and Sun, they are traveling everywhere.. But i do live 25 mins from the Tennessee State Trooper Head Quarters..

ive noticed theyreout more when theres a sport event. baseball/football/hockey/boxing. alot of ppl go to bars for them and they try to get drunks. other then that saterday nights there tend to be alot out in my area.

End of the month, weekend nights, and nice days where people are going to be out being stupid is when I see them the most.

LOL. Quota. I am sure you see more patroling when there are less calls for service. Also, there are more units on assigned times when people are out and about. IE sporting events, weekend nights, etc.

There are ALWAYS more on Sunday in my area.

end of month for sure. just got nailed doing 40 in a 25! wrote it as 5 over so that was kinda cool.

don't worry, there are a few street racing/TOOK NEW PICTURES threads in the 4.6 general. i mean what the ****, we have a photo section AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND a street/strip section.

i only notice the cops when i'm on my way to do something bad...so most times who cares where cops hang out...i figure they are guys just like anybody else...you have your down days, you have your busy days

A city in Texas installed cameras that took your picture if you ran a red light, than you would get a ticket mailed in. This brought in ALOT of revenue.
Well after awhile no one was running red lights and the revenue was going down.

So the city put it in the newspaper saying that they were turning off there cameras. Just so they can bring in some revenue.

I always see 5x more police towards the end of the month. They gotta get that quo- sorry, "suggested ticket goal (under threat of a performance review)" in.

basically the city was encouraging the citizens to break the law so they could make moneyif you want to state the obvious.

I used to love DUI checkpoint night at the very west end of Sunset. Had a buddy who ran a bar that was just before the checkpoint so he would call us when they were setting up and we would cab it to the bar and sit on the patio and cheer the cops everytime someone would make an illegal U-Turn to try and avoid the checkpoint and one of about twenty MC cops hiding in the bushes would fly out and catch them.
