"Hmm, did some mods to your car did you? Well, bend over and bite down on this, because its going to sting a bit." $1250/year previous............now $2933/year Pretty sure I am not going to be insuring it during winter.........but still.

I wouldn't cancel during the winter and then reinstate you insurance during the summer, that will raise your rates as well. If you car is not a daily driver check into low milage programs. That might help you out. Who is your carrier?

they bumped up your insurance for that? i know insurance rates just went up but damn.

State Farm doesn't even charge extra if you drop a new, and larger, engine in your car (last time I checked). They told me they go specifically by the VIN number. So... if you have a v-6 and drop in a v-8, for example, you still pay the v-6 rate. if you get in a wreck though and screw your engine up, then you are pretty much out of luck, but you are still paying lower rates.
