I can swear I read about someone putting in a push button start in place of the cigarette lighter in an 05+ Saleen.  However, I cannot find any info on this at all when searching online.  Anyone know about this?  Possibly some pics?  Thanks!

I remember seeing that as well, but I can't find it either.

Two problems creep up with a push button start:

1. I'm not sure you can do it with a manual transmission. Since most people leave it in gear when they park....that would cause some problems.

2. The push button start that replaces the cigarette lighter is mostly for show. You still have to put the key in first.

If you're interested, I bet HCM or Haney could get it for you...

Here's a picture:

go to rpmoutlet.com they sell it.  I'd be careful and do some research though. I thought I heard something about it by-passing the chip-recognition from the key, so technically all you(or a thief) would need is a screwdriver to start it.

Thanks everyone.  I see it now.  I think it looks a little tacky with the red button.  I would like to see a black button (I am sure there is one..).  I agree with the key chip too.  I was hoping they had a complete system for this.  Would be nice to have the keyfob that the car recognized, and that would be the only way it worked (no keys).  Thanks again!

Installed in my car and also dis-engage the key so if you try to use the key it doesn't work. This is more of a "why would you?" install, type of install, but to some it is cool.

I guess it is a pretty cool thing to have.  However, I would love to find a way to not need any key.  I guess that would be reaaaaaaaaaaly expensive.  Be nice to have it work just like newer cars that have the push button from the factory.  Get in it with the keyfob in your pocket and press the button.

Yes, I know I'm way high but fish with the right bait and you never know what's biting. The question is? Is the right fish looking?
