OK... so who isn't familiar with capitalism?

but really before we start let me inform you of where I am coming from. I own a 4.6 liter. When I drive it in the city I may get between 15 - 18 MPG and 24 on the interstate.

With that out of the way, these NO GAS DAYS are not going to do anything. The reason gas is so expensive is not because of the scarcity. The reason its so expenisveis because of two main things

-The oil company knows it is a necessary commodity.
-The value of the US dollar has dropped due to inflation.

The oil companies can charge what they please and we have to take it unless we feel like biking or walking to work. I hate paying 4$ a gallon for gas as much if not MORE then you but since I'm not a communist I guess we shall let the economics of the situation play itself out. But not all hope is lost. There is an invention called the WATER CAR. I have no idea why this product is not being massed produced. The money made from the the production would far exceed any under the table buy out an Oil company could come up with. I have seen the water car and different versions of it in several videos. Also we have had electric car technology for years despite the fact I see people driving around in 10 MPG hummers and dodge vipers... >_> but in til then this is very little we can do to change gas prices. Honestly if gas went up to 10$ a gallon tomorrow people will still buy it , people still have to go to work and shipments still have to be delivered and some idiots will still drive around all over town with noting better to do on the weekend.

The best thing we can do as of now is try to stop inflation. The Bush Administration thought it would be a great idea to just print money up to fuel this endless war. The only thing that causes inflation is... increased money supply! America is simply in a hole that a pro war candidate physical, mentally , financially CANT fix.

Today driving from Louisville to Mt. Vernon guess what I saw on I64....Mowers... cutting the grass in between the north and south bound lanes.. WHY DOES THAT NEED TO BE CUT!!! Im not sure how much money it costs to do that to every interstate in America but I;m guessing its a LOT. If we are in debt and in a recession WHY THE HELL are we not cutting spending in simple areas like this?!! I under stand a lot of road work is contracted and paid for in advanced but this debt and recession did not creep up on us last month out of no where....

A lot of people are mad at the Governor for cutting financial aid. As I see it , he is cutting spending and trying to get Ky back on track and over all in the long run will be a good choice.

its 2:30am im out.

Yeah the buy no gas this day! is retarded in every sense possible.

My truck gets 11mpg and its awesome;)

And water cars? Hydrogen cars maybe? ive driven a BMW hydrogen car, it was nice, super quiet, but slow as hell. and from whative read they are 30% efficient after calculating costs for making the energy etc better than anything else i believe

Maybe the mowers still going because the funding for the department hasnt been cut, and who knows, people could complain that field or whatever it is looks too messy[&:]

i live about 3miles from work and i am seriously considering buying a bicycle to ride to work. that 6 miles total a day is 30 miles a week or 120 a month. that 120 miles a month would pay for the bike in the first month easily

Just be like me and get a bike. They aren't expensive at all and get excellent MPG and are easy to maintain. However I recommend learning how to drive one first.

Despite what you may think, the oil companies don't set the price of oil, it's set by investors. The reason they see record profits is because of record consumption. They sell more, they make more.
