Im done with this teal piece of sh*t, 3 and 5 arent firing and its having to be towed back to MVPerformance tommorow so they can fix it. Ive spent $700 on an 02 V6 with 20,000 miles on it, $1,700 on having all the wiring and fuel lines hooked up and she still doesnt want to run! All I wanted was a sixxer vert that I could drive from point A to point B!!! My dads pissed because hes getting tired of there always being something wrong with it and me having to drive his truck or my moms car. Now hes agreed to co-sign on a newish car and of course Im looking for Mustangs.

Im trying to keep it $20,000 or less and were gonna haggle it down to maybe 16 or 15.

Heres what Ive found so far

S197

Any problems with it?
Is it a good deal?
What can I expect?
Do I have to get a big sig?

You can geta faster car cheaper. (if thats what your going for...)

98-02 F-body (LS1) can be had at around 5-10 grand in good condition.

Or
You can finda Cobra (03/04)  for cheap.

Im strange I know ive never wanted to buy a newer car really....

Redneck... wheretf do you find LS1s for $5k?  I've been searching all year for one and I've found them in the $9,000s with lots of miles.  They want $12,000 for a decent mileage Z28!

I live in a Ford family, if I got a Camaro my dad would in all likelihood make me park it down the street.
I cant finance a termi and I want low miles. I also dont need 400 hp.

I would do it if everything checks out on it.  If I could find one around here for that price and with those miles I would already have one as well.

I never said you had to get a camaro .

S197s are like civics.  They are everywhere and look the same.  If one is done up right, oh wait....

hmmm, don't listen to the haters

I say buy it. I love mine and it's just the V6, I'd love 90 more ponies under the hood. They make good DDs and I actually don't see that many around where I live so I wouldn't say they're as common as Civics, far from it.

Lots of aftermarket support too, just like any stang. But if you do it right on an S197 you'll turn lots of heads.

$3.65 where I live. And there is NOTHING economical about a Mustang, nothing.
That and my dad once told me something that Ill never forget, "Speed costs money, and you have to ask yourself the question, how fast can you afford to go?"

the Mach 1's are more expensive than 13k.

you will be happy with an S197 sixxer though, especially coming from a turd v6 auto vert.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.
