Ive spent $700 on an 02 V6 with 20,000 miles on it, $1,700 on having all the wiring and fuel lines hooked up and she still doesnt want to run! All I wanted was a sixxer vert that I could drive from point A to point B!!! My dads pissed because hes getting tired of there always being something wrong with it and me having to drive his truck or my moms car. Now hes agreed to co-sign on a newish car and of course Im looking for Mustangs.

Im trying to keep it $20,000 or less and were gonna haggle it down to maybe 16 or 15.

I live in a Ford family, if I got a Camaro my dad would in all likelihood make me park it down the street.
I cant finance a termi and I want low miles. I also dont need 400 hp.

I would do it if everything checks out on it. If I could find one around here for that price and with those miles I would already have one as well.

I say buy it. I love mine and it's just the V6, I'd love 90 more ponies under the hood. They make good DDs and I actually don't see that many around where I live so I wouldn't say they're as common as Civics, far from it.

Lots of aftermarket support too, just like any stang. But if you do it right on an S197 you'll turn lots of heads.

This is why people said to drop in a 5.0, especially since there is no wiring almost, its not complicated, and it would cost almost nothing to do.

IMHO I would really lean towards a 1993-1995 GT/cobra. I would kill to own a 1993 (especially teal) SVT Cobra, they have super low miles, and are going for 9-13,000 around here. Thats personally what I would do, especially since you get the hardened gears with the cobra, and GT40 Intake or heads (I can't remember which)

dont get another v6, id rather drive a honda that actually get good gas milage then a v6 mustang thats heavy as hell, slow, and a gas guzzler

if you make a thread in the s197 tech section, just make sure that its related to s197 tech, not "ZOMG I SAW A VID OF THE NEW ZR1 LULZ!!!"

it's really not that hard

and spoke, the s197 gt is a great choice. unless all you care about is going fast, then you're probably better off with a termi that got beaten on or a maro. but i' sure you'd like to look stylish and have a relatively comfortable ride as well, so i won't mention those;)

And I also know about the spark plugs popping out if they arent put in right and the owner eats nasty stripper poon.

Comparing an S197 to a Civic is ridiculous! I'm not a big fan of the S197, but atleast it doesn't look like a catfish;)

Banks will usually finance I believe up to 5 years back without any issues. I bought my 03 w 66k in August of last year, at the time it would've been a little over 4 years old.

I say the Mach 1 route sounds good, unless of course you wanted another vert. I've seen many New Edge verts going for about 15k now with less than 40k miles. Probably a more economical, and reasonable route.

I love the striping, the badges, the emblems, the wheels and everything that sets it apart from all the other new edge GT's. That and there was only 5000 something made so its rare.

My only problem is that it is rare. I found one but its got high miles and its a vert and I dont know if its a manual or auto. I deff want a manual and a 4.6

On the red Mach 1's the hood scoop was .0000195 inches higher than the other colored machs so it got like 5 extra hp. And the red termies? Slightly bigger blower= 20 extra hp. And Im not even gonna go into hp to weight ratio with red being lighter and more aerodynamic.;)
