Im done with this teal piece of sh*t, 3 and 5 arent firing and its having to be towed back to MVPerformance tommorow so they can fix it. Ive spent $700 on an 02 V6 with 20,000 miles on it, $1,700 on having all the wiring and fuel lines hooked up and she still doesnt want to run! All I wanted was a sixxer vert that I could drive from point A to point B!!! My dads pissed because hes getting tired of there always being something wrong with it and me having to drive his truck or my moms car. Now hes agreed to co-sign on a newish car and of course Im looking for Mustangs.

Im trying to keep it $20,000 or less and were gonna haggle it down to maybe 16 or 15.

Heres what Ive found so far

S197 (http://ps1.dlrsp.com/powersite/p2_site_main.php?pg=details&view=default&vinNumber =1ZVHT82H555147773&previousSearchResults=&searchGr oup=&thisDealer=Jim_Tidwell_Ford&showPrice=&showCR M=&crmCustomLink=&deaCod=jimtidwellford&typeOfSear ch=&paymentCalculator=&makeOnly=&excludeMake=)

Any problems with it?
Is it a good deal?
What can I expect?
Do I have to get a big sig?

I cant finance a termi and I want low miles. I also dont need 400 hp.

This is why people said to drop in a 5.0, especially since there is no wiring almost, its not complicated, and it would cost almost nothing to do.

IMHO I would really lean towards a 1993-1995 GT/cobra. I would kill to own a 1993 (especially teal) SVT Cobra, they have super low miles, and are going for 9-13,000 around here. Thats personally what I would do, especially since you get the hardened gears with the cobra, and GT40 Intake or heads (I can't remember which)

I vote 1993 Cobra FTW

we dont want you to refrain form making threads

if you make a thread in the s197 tech section, just make sure that its related to s197 tech, not "ZOMG I SAW A VID OF THE NEW ZR1 LULZ!!!"

it's really not that hard

Comparing an S197 to a Civic is ridiculous! I'm not a big fan of the S197, but atleast it doesn't look like a catfish;)

Banks will usually finance I believe up to 5 years back without any issues. I bought my 03 w 66k in August of last year, at the time it would've been a little over 4 years old.

I say the Mach 1 route sounds good, unless of course you wanted another vert. I've seen many New Edge verts going for about 15k now with less than 40k miles. Probably a more economical, and reasonable route.

You make those comments "because you can" is hardly reason to do so.

Actually red is. Its been scientifically proven that red is the FASTEST COLOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the red Mach 1's the hood scoop was .0000195 inches higher than the other colored machs so it got like 5 extra hp. And the red termies? Slightly bigger blower= 20 extra hp. And Im not even gonna go into hp to weight ratio with red being lighter and more aerodynamic.;)

There are quite a few of us on the forum who believe silver is truly the fastest color

It has to be new enough for me to finance, and since it seems that the banks only like to go as old as 5 years old that means 03+

I did find a Mach 1 with hail damage for $10,750. I mean how much could it honestly cost to have some dents taken out?

sorry, silver was right.

MB chose silver as their color in the french LeMans. This was because they could simpley polish the metal to get their color, thereby saving the weight of paint.
