I probably should have used the search tool first but Mr. Aeroforce is showing 5 misfires tonight, anybody else get those? I certainly cant feel anything and really dont think it's a big deal but it's odd that they just started showing uppost Whipple.

Maybe I put too much anti sieze on my plugs:)

Is that code p035x? I got them all the time with my Hellion kit. It only happened when I only drove the car a short distance before putting it in boost. If I drove it 20 miles or so it would not do it.

it's been covered aclass...moose and mustang0405
both register misfires, on the aeroforce gauge...

Yup freaked me out for a while. They are false readings. Some of the parameters in the gauge dont function right on every car. That is one of them.

As long as the ECM isnt throwing codes or the car isnt acting strange you are good.

The misfire doesn't work, power on bank 1 & 2 doesn't work, obviously engine oil temp doesn't work. Just remove it from your list of parameters.

aclass, Timing advance does work and could you record yours or just look at it at WOT? Mine has never gone over 18.5*. Mine is tuned for 91 octane, i read it will have 20* of timing with the 93 tune.

I'll do it Moose, except that it'll have to be on a nice day, suffered right much damage this morning when a Deer decided to run into the side of the car. Riped my mirror off clean and now I have holes to the outside. Scared my window glass and dented the heck out of it.
I'm hoping to get the stuff in by next weekend so it can be fixed the following week. She decided to dart at the last minute and I couldnt get away.[sm=smiley21.gif]

That's sux! Atleast it wasn't a head on collision. I'm always leery when I see dear on the side of the road. Since getting the pypes mid mufflers, i haven't seen many deer.:D

Moose, my timing advance numbers:
At cruising speed the advance was anywhere between 38.0 and 40.0 and as the vacuum decreased the number would decrease. At WOT a 3rd gear pull, I saw as low at 14.7. Then at idle it was around 19.0-24.0.

I have found out one thing, my clutch does not hold the Whipple during a 3rd gear pull. I suppose the tires breaking loose in 1st and 2nd keep it from being so noticeable then but third gear sounds like a the little engine that could.

Well 38 is pretty normal at cruise, atleast that's what mine shows, but 14.7 seems low for wide open throttle unless it's pulling timing. Does it start out higher when you first hit it? It should be between 18-20, but I can't get a straight answer out of whipple to be sure.

3rd gear is when i knew I needed a new clutch. I dropped to third and went to pass and it just rev'd and barely accelerated. I was pretty sure it was slipping in 1st with the drag radials on and it was probably slipping some on the dyno.

Yes, its a little higher when you first punch it, 14.7 was just the lowest value I notice. The number changes pretty quickly so to be more accurate I'd need to record it.

Dude, all these blown engines are starting to worry me.,,,

I would record it along with your rpms at the same time, that's what I do. that way you know where it's pulling timing if at all.

Did you get the tune for 91 or 93? I got 91, but always run 93 because there is no 91 here.

Yeah I got the 91 tune for safety. I plan to have VMP make a 91 octane tune as well when I go to 10psi. Trying to stay conservative so I dont have that problem.

You guys might want to think about relocating your IAT's too. I know Moose and I have been over it as far as whether it is needed or not, but I like to see (and the PCM) the real IAT's.

Moose, on the Dyno I saw 16 degrees of timing. I should think I would be save up to about 19 on 91 octane.

My tune is for 91 also, quite frankly I didnt think FRPP had a 93 tune since you cant get it just anywhere, and there wasnt a choice that I remember when filling out the voucher.
I think I am gonna pursue a little less boost for now, all these blown engines and the fact that my clutch is struggling to hold the Whipple has me nervous...

MustangGT0405, what psi are you running now?

My clutch worked fine with the 8psi pulley (3.625 in) and I went back to it when it really started to slip. He has the 8psi pulley as well. There was a place for 91 or 93 octane on ford racing website when I filled mine out.

MustangGT0405, I just past the 500 mile break in for the clutch so i did a WOt run in 3rd. It hit 19* of timing. Not sure If i've ever recorded it with the 8psi pulley, but obviously 18.5* is not the max timing. The car really jumps now on the 3-4 shift thanks to spec.;)

8 psi. With the FRPP tune and relocated IAT (hurting my power now I think) I made 416rwhp and 398 ft lbs. I believe my motor would last 100k miles easy with this set up.

Once I have my dyno tune I might switch back and forth between the 8psi pulley and 10 psi pulley. I plan to tell Justin to be conservative on my 10psi tune so I am not that worried about blowing the motor.

I figure if I can make 450rwhp at 10 psi real safe on a 91 octane tune and run 93 I shouldnt have any issue.

Here is my stock shortblock build list so I can say I am done, till forging that is.

10psi pulley and tune
Mcloed Clutch
Alum FW
Alum DS
Tru-trac with 3.90's
Frankentensioner
Elec H2O pump
1 3/4 LT's
H pipe

Hoping for about 470rwhp and 11.5's on Slicks with me driving.
