so, if the title doesnt make sense, you either dont know what a close talker is, or you might even be a close talker and youre ignorant to a persons "personal space"...but anyway..

I know several people who are awful close talkers.  now, i understand leaning in to make sure that someone is hearing you in a crowded bar, sporting event, club, etc..but im talking about people who are just ALWAYS too close when they talk to you.  These are often the same people who insist on having their hand on your shoulder or holding onto your arm to talk, or people who hold onto a hand shake to the point of it being awkward.

what is wrong with these people? we all know them...why dont they know that i can hear without them being 4 inches from my face and without them holding onto my shoulder or hand?

i know both men and women, from teenage to their 60s, married and single...close talking doesnt seem to stick to a particular demographic.

so, why dont these people understand how obnoxious they are??  have you ever told a close talker that they need to step back? in the bar settings, where close talkers run rampant, ive told a guy or two that they needed to get some room, but i find that in an everyday atmosphere, people are surprised to learn that they are disgusting to talk to because they insist on being close enough that you can feel their breath on your face..

ugh...

huh...i'd say if you are within arm's reach, you are too close (unless eets fore secksy time! ).

i LOL when i talk to people that either can't look at me in the face for more than 3 seconds or are too busy looking at something else in another direction.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

Well, that is basically the complete polar opposite of a close talker.

Personally, eye contact is great to make, especially when making a point, but I see no reason in making eye contact every single second I am talking to someone. I can do it, and sometimes will if I know it makes the person uncomfortable just for ****s n giggles, but otherwise I just talk.

i wasn't really trying to compare the two, i just put it out there as another thing i find interesting about people when they talk.  i also can't stand when i'm talking to someone in the car when they are driving, and half the time they are looking over at me while driving...in the car, especially if its just two people, there's no need for eye contact, at all, ever, never, ever.

What was it Seinfeld said?  "What's up with people who yell into your mouth like you're a clown's head at a fast food drive thru?"

No I'm not gay! No! No!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I hate that ****. I fear of their breath, good or bad.

I hate eye contact too, I just can't do it. Doesn't help that I have an extreme case of A.D.D.

annoying people always think they are the greatest thing ever, no matter which flavor of annoying they are, public-place cell phone yellers, close talkers, people with dumb kids that think their kids are cute, etc. etc.  they probably think you actually enjoy their closeness.
