well.. I was heading home from my dad's house when a wrx does a ricer fly-by on me.. he slows down, i catch up w/o going too fast then he takes off as soon as i get close to his bumper. I floor it too and catch up to him when traffic ahead forces me to slow down. (This is all topping out around 60mph). They keep going and signal to turn into a taco bell so i slow it back down to 40mph and wave as I pass them, they were waving for me to follow them but i wanted to get home and get some stuff done..It's a small town, and im pretty sure ive seen the car a few times already .. so i signal to merge right, start to merge and I suddenly see something skittering across the road directly infront of me (this was just after sunset). I feel a bump and I know its too late to slow down.. I look behind me and its a little cat, turning in circles... I didn't do anything wrong but it's the first time I've ever hit a living animal.. I'm sure it died, but i didn't see the corpse this morning. Just makes me feel bad..

That sucks. I've come close to hitting a couple myself but avoided them somehow. The only thing I've hit was a bird once, and that was in drivers ed lol.

I've hit a dog before. Managed to slam on the brakes and just kinda bumped his but and turned him sideways. Then I saw a squirrel stand up in my lane going down my street. I had a feeling he would but I'm not going to wreck my car over it...plowed through him and kept going.

one time i was driving my ex' gf from a long time agos sunfire, and something skittered across the road, so i kinda........ swirved....... FOR IT..... lol


it was a big ass armadillo, and i hit him dead perfect with the frount passenger tire, made a LOUD THUMP sound

I hit a rabbit on Easter many years ago. I sh!t you not. I had a bunch of friends in the car and they were all screaming I killed the Easter Bunny. True story.

I hit a bat once - on my motorcycle. Saw it coming and could do nothing about it. I had bat spit all over my leather jacket. I was convinced I was going to get rabies.

i was yelling help.a few other neighbors ran out to assist.the hardest thing was i was on my lunch break and i called to tell my manager i was going to be late for work.he said is the dog more important then your job?that just pissed me off.

My worst was I was ripping down a sidestreet in my 85.5 Daytona Turbo Z and a duck waddled quickly in front of my car. I had no time to stop as I wasn't about to lose control and kill myself because it decided to run in front of my car. After I hit it, I saw it rolling end over end in the street from the hit & momentum. I saw another similar sized duck, and about 6-10 baby ducklings run to the duck I hit.

It was so sad to see the little babies all around it. It broke my heart to think I just killed somethings parent, and significant other. I still think about it to this day, and that happened over 10 years ago.

I have never taken out a dog, but a truck in front of me did one time. I pulled over and the dog was done. It wasnt moving and blood was pouring out of its mouth. Then the mom comes over with like 3 kids under the age of 10. I was like I wouldnt bring them over here if i were you. She completely ignored me and now her kids are probably scarred for life after seeing their rover almost cut in half by a truck. I thought they were going to try to blame it on me, but they didnt. I took off before I saw what else happened. I didnt want to take the blame for someone elses **** up.

Only animal ive ever killed was a rabbit. Thing flew in front of me and I wasnt even speeding. A deer ran into the side of our subaru though a couple yours back. That was funny.

You can usually tell how bad you hurt them by how loud the THUD is.[:@]

A few bunnies. One rabbit- Country road going slow saw rabbit in road & when we got close rabbit started running around & we couldnt see him any more, we slowed to less than walking speed & then we felt rt front wheel go up & then heard a pop like a paper bag & the tire dropped fast. Dam rabbit tried to hide under the tire. TRUE!

One turkey- flew into side of work truck. Made a bid dent I had to report.

Bunchsmall birds. Two while I wan on a motorcyle. One hit my handle bar & exploded inall the cables & shyt, made a mess. I had bird blood all over me. I had on a white helmit & t-shirt. People thought I was bleeding.:DThe other bird hit me in the shoulder. It thit so hard that it took my hand off the grip. Almost crashed the bike.

Bunch of squirrels. Those things run around so fast I dont even try to avoid them any more.

DEER!!!![:@][:@][:@] Two have hit ME! Saw them along side of road& slowed only to have them run into side of my car/truck. Not to much damage, deer not hurt.

I was driving a rented pick-up truck it was old & built like a brick shyt house. Was doing about 65mph & deer ran in front of me & I didnt even have time to lift off gas. Caught it w/ left front bumper & wheel. It split the deer in half!! I looked in mirror & could see the 2 1/2s spinning down road.[:'(][:'(]

Hit 1 deer w/ wife's van, $3000 in damage, deer was fresh meat for a friend.

Had two moose cross road in front of me. They are NOT very common here, but not un heard of. One on I-87 Near Lake George NY. There were cars slamming on breaks all over. No-one hit it.Moose just took its dam time to cross. Other one had traffic stopped near Greenwich. Mustang could have gone UNDER it w/ clearance.

Dam, I didnt realize how many animals my cars have hit til I wrote this.

I hit a baby racoon once. Doged/slowed down and missed the group, and as I swerved away from then to give them room after they crossed the road, a straggler ran out in front of me. It went quick, got both the tires on the driver's side. Someone around here hit a 400lb black bear about a month ago on the highway.

A while back when I first got my license I was driving on a dark country road at about 11 at night. This ground hog ran out in front of my car and I had no time to react and I hit it. I turned the car around and went back because I felt bad and was hoping it wasn't dead. When I got up on it, it was in the middle of the road, squirming all around. It looked like it was in a ton of pain and I had no idea how long it would lay there and suffer so I just ran it over again. I figured it would be better that way then to let it suffer.

you must be a city boy. i think i hit, all unintentional, around 25 or so animals. ranging from coons to snakes to opossums to cats. have never hit anything in my mustangs though, thankfully.

ive yet to hit anything, but since were on this topic last summer my neighbors cat jumped my fence and my two german sheppards killed it. i felt pretty bad, but i ended up throwing it in the corn field. then i knew i was going to hell when the kid found it like a week later.

Wow some of yall are lucky, around here in NC(bum fu** egypt) I hit animals all the time, at least 1 every 2 months or so. Possiums, Raccons, Deer, Cats, and Rabbits are everywhere. Ivx hit all except a deer knock on wood. I live out in the country and driving at night always see something running across.

I hit more than a few birds with my Cutlass I used to have. I also killed a cat one night, with the Cavy Z24. I didn't even know what happened. I came up to a stop sign, in the middle of nowhere, at around 1 A.M. It felt like I just ran over a big bump or something. I drove by the next day and saw a dead cat laying there. I felt really bad. The best one was, one night, I was with a bunch of friends. And we were piled into my friend's Corsica. We were going about 65 on some country road and the biggest racoon I've ever seen was sitting right in the middle of the road. We nailed him and you could hear and feel him rolling and hitting the floorboard under the car. lol

i live in iowa and i hate deer, almost took one out in the middle of town, the one on the highway wasnt so lucky nailed him in my ranger, also took a damn owl out with the jeep and a possum with the starion, and then various other small critters runnin around

Damn that sucks, I've hit a dog before but he didnt die. When me and my Wife first started dating I would stay at her parents house with her most of the time, well they lived in the next City North of where I stay, so I would have to leave at like 11:00 just to be at work by 11:45 or so. So one day I'm traveling this back road and boom, a big black Lab comes running across the road and I hit him in the rear end and he just keeps running and I never seen him again. Pretty strong dogs out there.

all i can say is....bitch got owned...should have known it was a bad idea to wander in the road.....thats not being smart...its common sense to not step in front of a very large scary object moving fast......ground control to major dumbass!!!! get the hell off the road!!!

LOL.. gayest pet ever.. Cat's are serious drag queens.. Plus I'm allergic to them so I wouldn't exactly feel too bad if I ran one over unless it was someone's pet. But then, that's what you get for letting your pets run all over the place and not keeping track of them to make sure they stay safe..

Been lucky enough never to hit anything big like a deer or even a dog I don't think, but I've run over possums, armadillos, racoons, squirrels.. Only one that ever actually damaged my car was four or five years ago right after I moved to VA Beach and I still had Mark VIII, I hit a big ass racoon doing almost 70 on I-64 and I almost spun out trying to get stopped cause the friggin thing sprayed guts all over the grill, hood and windshield.. LOL Ended up breaking a headlight, destroyed my bumper and grill, bent my hood a little, and dented the radiator..

I have hit countless Racoons, Possums, Armadillo's.. Luckly no REAL pets:D Wild animals.

2 months ago i was on a bike ride with 3 of my friends and i hit a Racoon on my bike, Almost broke my ankle(hit my front wheel, then my left ankle.) Looked behind me he was like eye level doing the helicopter lol. We stopped and tried to find it(goanna make a hat with it :eek:) yeah my pants were covered with blood, decided to trash them suckers....

In my truck (04 Silverado, 2wd, stepside, tuned, LT's, 22"s) Yeahmy buddy and mehad just passed throughsome hoe dunk town in Al, and it stretched over to a 2 lane hiway road... It was almost sundown, I was driving, we were rolling about 60-65ish. We round this curve and f'n out of nowhere we were like "oh a deer holy ****...thats a big buck"...then not even 2 secs later a f'n huge a$$ doe runs right out in front of us.. Yeah wepopped that ass, and sent her on here way... to the ditch..Atfirst we were like "oh s***" and were laughing, but we stopped and like 20mins later the deer died... And yes my buddy took my tie downs i use for my car and threw her in the back of my truck...Craziness..

Andmytruck didn't get hurt... just a ding in the bumper.

I was driving to a bar with my older brother here in vegas....we were going about 45-55 in my lifted ranger when a cat ran out in front of me....as i hit the cat, i looked in the rear view mirror and saw his head flying thru the air...it was pretty mortifying....but a GREAT story for the bar!

those things are nasty as hell...we had one in our basement window pit...i beat it w/ a shovel for a good 15 minutes and the little **** wouldn't quit...

I was driving and ran over a squirrel back in Iowa, in my cool mini van no less. I saw it run in front of me. I ran over it, I felt it hit the side where the tire is so I guess it got sucked up under the tire. After that I look back and see where the stupid squirrel is at. To my suprise it just kept running across the street. This happend twice!!!! I was beggining to think that the squirrels there are bionic!!!

That is kinda sad.. I hit a baby coyote on my 4 wheeler.. I was chasin the apparent mother (didnt know about the pup..) chasing it down and outta nowhere this coyote pup pops out in front of me and I locked up my brakes and slid over the top of him and he made a horrible scream.. I got off and ran back and I had injured him. Just looked like a small dog. kinda really felt bad after that.. The coyote population is pretty bad in this part of kansas and during the spring months with our new born calves we lose a few due to these pests..

I've never hit any animals, but my dad had a older 88-89 chevy truck w/ custom pait and hit a deer right smack in da middle. It was pretty early in the morn and she jumped out in front of him out of no where. He said he was going bout 60-65 mph. Had to replace front bumper, grill,
both headlights, radiator, hood, and both front fenders. Oh ya... windshield too. The truck looked pretty bad.

Hahaha, I hate cats. I haven't hit any yet, they always manage to get out of the way just in time. I do have a funny story though. Guy I knew in highschool ran over a cat. He tried to avoid it but ended up hitting it with his tire. Thing got wrapped up around his tire and there was a streak as he pulled into the driveway (hit it about a block from his house). It was his dad's car and he made him hose out everything under the car before the next day.

Probably the funniest thing was seeing a bird fly in front of a Mack truck cab and then see a puff of feathers fly around the entire truck while driving behind it.

Hey tranquilize me one of themcoyotes... PLZ, and send it to FL--- i want a Hybrid Wolf, but cant find them anywhere, so a coyote will do. Need a good protection dog, and besides--- i hate the dumpster cats that walk through our neighborhood... so that type of dog will do just fine...;):D:)

Driving a lowered S-10.. sees a squirrel, punchs the gas, and thought he missed the squirrel... He then heard a thumping noise coming from under the truck and thought he had a flat... He pulled over at a gas station, and the squirrel's tail got caught behind the wheel in between the brake drum and wrapped the tail around the axle housing... he said all he saw was blood up under the wheel wale... f/n crazy--- i laughed tho... cauz i'm always dodgin to hit squirrels..lill turds..

lol, my ex and I went to oklahoma city to pick up her "dream car" a 2000 yellow v6 firebird *bleh* anyway, this thing is her baby. On the ride home she's trying to get me to race, but I didn't wanna crush her happiness so I acted like I didnt see her. Long story short, we we're almost back to her house at about 10p.m. and I see a possum on the edge of the road so I casually move over and the little booger ran out not away OUT in the road! She was right behind me, I look in the rear view to see the possum on its to hind legs when BLAP, into the front bumper of her pretty new car, god i was laughing so hard. We get back to her house and she was crying as expected I look under the car and some how she managed to hit it right at it's neck and he was still dangling underneath[:-] bleh, that was a fun clean up...

I've hit a few birds. Biggest one was a pheasant in my ex's pickup truck. I tried to avoid the thing (was a rooster) but it went back into the road and it was impossible. Started to fly up and got hit hard by the grille. There was guts on my friend's windshield behind us after that. [&:]

Crushed a rabbit. No cats or dogs yet thankfully. I like them both and although I agree it's their "fault" so to speak for running into the road, and also their owners for letting them roam, it's still no fun for me to hurt one.

Had some close calls though.

my dog got run over by a minivan a couple of weeks ago, her pelvis was fractured in 14 places. she survived but if it had been a couple inches more she would have died. shes a jack russle terrier so a small dog. i thank god shes alive

i tried avoiding a coyote and i ended up crashing =/

Years ago in my old Plymouth Arrow GT [8D] I went by a guy in the left lane turning. As I go by him two big dogs ran right out in front of me.....never even had time to brake. Killed one of them and severly wounded the other. Tore up the front of that little car. I broke a windshield hitting a pheasant one time. Too many little critters to list......I've been driving a looong time [&:]
