well.. I was heading home from my dad's house when a wrx does a ricer fly-by on me.. he slows down, i catch up w/o going too fast then he takes off as soon as i get close to his bumper. I floor it too and catch up to him when traffic ahead forces me to slow down. (This is all topping out around 60mph). They keep going and signal to turn into a taco bell so i slow it back down to 40mph and wave as I pass them, they were waving for me to follow them but i wanted to get home and get some stuff done..It's a small town, and im pretty sure ive seen the car a few times already .. so i signal to merge right, start to merge and I suddenly see something skittering across the road directly infront of me (this was just after sunset). I feel a bump and I know its too late to slow down.. I look behind me and its a little cat, turning in circles... I didn't do anything wrong but it's the first time I've ever hit a living animal.. I'm sure it died, but i didn't see the corpse this morning. Just makes me feel bad..

taht sucks. i hit a possum with my dads astro once. it had already been run over and all i think i managed to do was brake its leg and put in more pain
I've hit a dog before. Managed to slam on the brakes and just kinda bumped his but and turned him sideways. Then I saw a squirrel stand up in my lane going down my street. I had a feeling he would but I'm not going to wreck my car over it...plowed through him and kept going.

I hit a rabbit on Easter many years ago. I sh!t you not. I had a bunch of friends in the car and they were all screaming I killed the Easter Bunny. True story.
I hit a bat once - on my motorcycle. Saw it coming and could do nothing about it. I had bat spit all over my leather jacket. I was convinced I was going to get rabies.
i backed out of my parents driveway one and backed over their neighbors little dog.he started screaming and blood was coming out of his ears,nose and eyes.i was panicking and freaked out.i called animal services and they rushed him to the vet.the dog lived somehow.the neighbor wasn't home which made it worse.that happened about 10 years ago and i was told a year ago that the dog just died of old age.lived 9 years after the incedent.it just breaks your heart when that happens.
I've only hit and killed two animals in my time. The last was a rabbit which ran under my front tire a couple of weeks ago. The first............was a damn skunk I hit it with my 87 Tempo. Dang thing got rolled by the undercarriage and sprayed the hell out of the car in the process. Took a week for the smell to subside.

i was yelling help.a few other neighbors ran out to assist.the hardest thing was i was on my lunch break and i called to tell my manager i was going to be late for work.he said is the dog more important then your job?that just pissed me off.
My worst was I was ripping down a sidestreet in my 85.5 Daytona Turbo Z and a duck waddled quickly in front of my car. I had no time to stop as I wasn't about to lose control and kill myself because it decided to run in front of my car. After I hit it, I saw it rolling end over end in the street from the hit & momentum. I saw another similar sized duck, and about 6-10 baby ducklings run to the duck I hit.
It was so sad to see the little babies all around it. It broke my heart to think I just killed somethings parent, and significant other. I still think about it to this day, and that happened over 10 years ago.

I'm surprised not to hear any deer kill stories. I totaled my first GTO when 5 deer decided to hang out in the middle of the road late one night. I figured it would be better for me and the deer if I got on the shoulder and attempted to go around them. Didn't work. The smallest two turned and ran right in front of me. Reaction caused me to tap the brakes. It was raining, dark, and I was going about 65mph. I got loose and lost control. My brother was with me. We spun out, went thru a wooden fence on the opposite side of the road, took out a dogwood while traveling backwards, spun around again and hit a oak tree head on. It sucked, and hurt. Poor GTO, I hate deer.
