Hey everyone. After quite some time looking through these forums, I finally decided to join. I have a 2005 GT, Redfire, with a few body mods, GTA exhaust, and only a K&N drop in filter (full intake and tune have to wait till I get the car paid off :(). Anyway, I just got my latest issue of Car and Driver and on the cover is the 2010 Mustang. Hopefully I won't get in trouble posting the pic from the magazine. Well, the first picture is the 2010, and the others are mine. Glad to finally be apart of Mustangforums.com! Edit: Here is my first noob question. I noticed my pictures are an attachment; how do I make them show up in the post itself

Welcome to the forums.

Is it just me, or does the article say a new V-8 6.2L with 400HP?

I sure hope that's not set it stone. It looks like a GT500 squinting. That picture has been around for awhile and I doubt it's the actual production car.

yup looks like the 6.2 will be a 3 valver too. i would like to see the tq numbers on this engine. seems like a nice go between engine for a MACH 1 maybe.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. As far as the 2010 photo goes, I had not seen it before, but the headlights and the front fascia look exactly like the ones in the spy photos which have been released. To be honest, other than the possibility for the 6.2L engine, I like the 05+ body style much better.

I am more excited about the chance to run a 6.2 with a supercharger than the looks.

yeah that was english. having a 6.2 is just trying to copy chevy and dodge. unless u plan on going on an actual race track and not a straight away u don't need all that torque.

I just read another article in Hot Rod or Car and Driver one that said Ford is also considering a 4.0 with twin turbos that will put out horse power similar to the GT. The primary reason was for fuel economy since fuel prices might have an effect on future sales of GT's.

^That'd be the 3.5L ecoboost. Also spectulation, but I wouldn't mind it along with a V8 option.
I see both benefits and drawbacks to the 6.2, andlike most others I'd like to see a 302, with maybe the 6.2 as an option. As for the body... I kinda like it.

yep thats why it was also called a 302 for 302 cubic inches. a real 5.0 is like 305 or 306.

Best conversion (I figured this out one day in Chemistry) take the cubic inches and divide by 61 to get Litres. 305/61=5.0L 302/61=4.9508...
