Lately there has been a kid speeding all over my town in a 4.6 sn95 with cobra badges and a loud ass exhaust. I could tell it wasn't a cobra because it sounds nothing like any other 4v I have ever heard, but because he refuses to lift his hood(doesn't want anybody to know what he's running) I could never prove it. Today I was hanging out with my buddy who drives an evo and this kid pulls up. He starts immediately talking crap about both our cars. He says my Fox is a "fossil piece of ****" and that my friend should stop posing with his lancer, because everybody knows all evos have the wing.
After listening to him brag for about 15 minutes about all the cars that he beats I ask him if he wants to run. He says he would only if we could go from a roll because "1st and 2nd gear are useless" in his monster cobra. We go to the spot where most little races like this happen in my area and we get next to each other at about 30 mph, he did his little three honks and off we went.I put about 4 or 5 lengths on him by about 85-90 and shut down, a good 2 or 3 seconds later I get the flyby. After we go back to the spot he is laughing saying "see, 5.0s suck I got you on the top end" I tried to reason with him, but he wouldn't be told otherwise. I finally got him to pop his hood and my suspicions were correct, a bone stock SOHC 4.6 that even had the original air filter, all he had done to the car was glasspacks. The best part is he tell my buddy that he would race him for 200 bucks next week if he wants. My friends car has full exhaust from the turbo back, gutted up pipe, intake, and a dyno tune along with some suspension mods. Right now his best time is a 13.03, I can't remember the trap, but this season he has some better tires and plans on upping the boost a little and getting a more aggressive tune. I can't wait until he races him, hopefully I'll get it on video, and then I can get the ricer excuses on tape too.
