How does this tire and wheel package look?

97 Black Cobra

I like the black 95 style cobra R wheel.  For tires Im thinking Nitto NT555 255/40/17 17x9 on the front.  On the rear the Nitto NT 555R 315/35/17 17x10.5.  Do you think this would look good or are the rears too wide and will they look awkward compared to the front?  This package is looking to be around the $1200 mark.  Anyone think that is too high let me know where to go.  I looked at SEVERAL different site, most of them on this forum.

Thanks!!

I love 10.5"s on rear, and run them myself [:)]. I think you could push the fronts wider and fill that well better to be more proportional to rears and go 275/35's. This is a large tire for a 9" rim (I run 275/35/18"s), but will probably offer the same ride quality as the sidewall hight will be about the same as the 255/40's.

As to cost, I have not shopped these items, but I payed over $1700 for my PS2's alone, so sounds like a good deal to me [:D]

As to what I think about your choice......... it is YOUR car and who cares what I think [8D]

Thanks for the info jazzer!!! As long as the rear tire doesn't rub on the fender I think Ill go with this!!!

I don't see a reason they would rub. Many '94-'98 Cobras with that set up.

You DO Have a solid rear axle, correct? I ask because 10.5"x17" wheels will have some clearance problems on rear IRS. This can be dealt with by spacers or modification/replacement of a bolt, but think you should know that.
