Manual trans will not be available for a while, ftl.

Also, isn't limited slip diff not std equipment or maybe not available at all?

Dodge rear ends suck. My friends dad had to pay a bunch of extra to get plain ol posi on his truck. Most dodge vehicles just do one leg peels. Retarded.

I hear that they look huge next to a current Mustang.

i was in love with the challenger but the more i see it in motion the fatter its starting to look...a heavy muscle car is a slow muscle car unless you put in all the coin to offset the weight...although i bet it'll do a mean burnout with all that tonnage...i used to count the days till i could trade my stang in for it but now i'm thinkin i'll keep the mustang...

that drag race package does give me a slight boner though

I do like how the challenger has the race package--innovative!

"all of the 2008 Challenger come equipped with a 3.06:1 ratio gear and a Sure Grip limited slip differential. It has also been confirmed for 2009 that the Challenger will offer much more performance minded gears, such as a 3.73:1 and 3.91:1 ratio for the manual transmission models."

so much for all the BS about one wheel peels. and i bet the 09 challenger will be here soon enough.

i dont know of any 08 models that have been delivered yet...my understanding is that all of the models in our area are pre-production 09s, and those pictures of the challenger doing a burnouts are part of a huge series of photoshopped press photos from dodge. lsd is standard on the 08 srt8

hm....maybe if i can catch an SRT8 around here and ask for a quick 5 second burnout, then i'll be able to verify if they really do have LSD. :D

but why would we have preproduction 09s before the 08s have been released? maybe those 09s have the stronger HEMIs that are being tested for street duty...

i dont know why they are driving pre-production 09s, but i was told by a dodge employee that a few execs are driving white car with black stripes...which isnt offered for 08, and ive never seen a nicely painted mule, especially one driven by an exec...so maybe the white/black is going to be another special edition, similar to the blue v6 model.
