I am more curious why there are all these videos of tachs and speedo's as if it is something amazing that could not be sped up or manipulated to look how ever you want it to. It doesn't prove anything other then you are probably not paying full attention to your driving while you are trying to go fast.

I think he was joking, and did someone actually think I sped up the video or something? My car doesnt even have a supercharger or turbo, so I am not going to kid myself into thinking it is fast.

Something is fishy about that vid. Your speedo showed 110 and then in the three seconds it took to get the truck in view it looked like 65. Did you slam on the brakes up to the truck and then gun it to get around the truck?

think again, first of all, i was 15, second, my dad was sitting shotgun, i wasnt about to start speeding....

if your car was a little faster it wouldnt have been an issue. [8D]

my cars plenty fast, its just a matter of me not being fresh on driving a stickshift, and never having driven the car before, i wasnt about to go peeling out everywhere, i took it slow, i know the guys saw me too

I didnt hit the breaks I just took my foot 100% off the gas. I think that truck was speeding, because looking back at the video at one point it looked like the truck was going about the same speed as me, but I was never under 80.

Wasn't that truck on the highway before you, in other words you cut him off he didn't cut you off. Lucky for you that you didn't cause an accient.

well i dont know about you folks but you all sound like the type that gets on the freeway at 35mph and cause traffic jams. I for one usually merge on the freeway above highway speeds so i dont slow everyone else down as the people on the freeway have the right of way. to the op, that truck wasnt even close to hitting you.

seriously how many of you dont mash the fuggin gas pedal when merging on the freeway?

+1, my dad always taught me to floor it when merging in any case, just in case some little jap car is hiding in your blind spot

anytime i merge into the interstate i always here the top gun song in my head ,"dangerzone",i feel like i must get it up to speed or i wont be able to take off in time.i think thats one of the funnist things to do is merge into traffic on the interstate.

The people who merge at the speed limit should just not drive. You need to be going faster than the traffic to merge into them or you will just cause problems. Floor it!
