Default 1970 mach 1 *testing*

Okay so im thinking about selling a project car i have on had. what is a decent price to sell it for?
The car is complete except for a missing gas tank. does not run and needs a frame off restoration. but the car is solid. no body damage no chopped parts. of course it needs new floor pans quarter panel patchs and a new hood and trunk lid. but the body/frame is straight and solid.

1970 Mach 1 351 Cleveland 2v
C4 Automatic trans
Air conditioning.
Shaker Scoop car

the cars original color was Chestnut Metallic which is a maroon metallic
the original interior was white and only 300 were made in this color combination.

I own the original build sheet, and a dealer copy of the window sticker.

I am the fourth owner since 1970. The car stoped running in the late 80s early 90s and sat till i purchased it in 2000. Preocupied with other projects and life i've neglected it and dont have the time or money to take up another project. i purchased it for 1000 dollars 8 years ago. i was thinking about 3000-4000. is this a fair asking price? some people say its worth 5-6 some say 3-4. im skeptical about anything more than 3k. like i said it needs a full restoration. but it is all there. all the body panels all the interior piecies. it just needs to be taken apart and restored.

Orlando?? please, get in contact with me i'd love to come see it in person since we're practically neighbors in terms of cities. I probably live less than 30 minutes from you.

It's hard to say what it is worth without a lot of pictures, but I'm pretty certain it's worth more than 3-4K...even if it isn't running. I'm certainly no expert at appraising these things, but I do know that '70 Mach 1 351 A/C and Shaker is a fairly desireable car. A running one in only fair shape could go for 15K. A fully restored one might bring 25-30K.

If I were you I'd hold onto it until I had the time and/or money to restore it, unless IREALLY needed the money now. If nothing else it might be worth it to put 1-2K into the engine and drivetrain to get it to drive....even without the body work, if it's running it could be worth 9-10K. Again, this is just my opinion, there are a whole lot of guys on here that know FAR more than I do on the subject. I wouldn't just take the first "$4,000 cash money" someone offered without being sure what it is worth.....unless 4K is all you need, LOL.

Good luck,

Heck, I'd probably give you $4000 cash right now, just from your description & that little photo.
I'd think the higherestimates are more realiastic. How much rust there is is a huge factor in price, but a real Shaker Mach I is a very desirable car, even with rust.

Iwould probably give him $4K, too....if he had a clear title and I had a place to put it(heck I'd probably push my '69 out in driveway and put it in the garage if I thought my wife wouldn't shoot me (real reason I'm not on my way to Orlando). LOL

I'm dead serious on it, I'll personally come give you the money whatever your price is (Within reason) and pick it up any time. I have been looking for something for my father to restore and give to.
