It's not in the national interest for either the U.S. or China to go to war with each other. Both China's and the U.S.'s economies are dependent on one another.
China sells the U.S. billions of dollars of their products. Why would they want to kill one of their best customers? The Chinese turn around and invest those dollars here in the U.S. They have billions of dollars invested in U.S. treasury bills. If they're at war with us, how are they going to collect all that interest on their investment let alone get their principle back? Their economy would tank. Millions of Chinese would starve to death.
Why should we want to kill anybody in China? The billions of dollars they have invested here in the U.S. helps keep our economy going. If they stopped investing here in the U.S., you might have to wave good-bye to your good job, your plans to buy a new Mustang, and money to take out the honeys.
their army is 300,000,000 strong...so if everyone in their army killed one person we would all be dead. no way we could win unless we secretly nuke them and i dont think you can hide a nuclear attack very well. they could blow us up with nukes too.
Economy has nothing to do with population. It is pretty foolish for you to think that we know what other countries have. The truth is, WE DON'T KNOW. You say China is no where near as avanced as the US, thats the same attitude that has this countries economy struggling. America will have it's hands full in a war with China. Besides, if we attack them, North Korea will step in a nuke the **** out of us, because they have been wanting to for a while..

Yes, they are a threat due to numbers. But.....you forget so quickly that people ranted and raved about the Iraqi forces, their numbers, their Russian equipment....yada, yada. We pulled off the most serious ass kicking the world has ever seen against them......TWICE. In an air or naval war we would own the Chinese. With nukes, the question is do they actually have the means to reach us with a limited number of missiles and do we lack the means to stop them? A ground war......we don't have the numbers and would be forced to go nuke......but......do you really think we are going to go to war with China on the ground again?? I would think we learned the lesson on that one in the 50s
Who knows......we didn't used to have Patriot batteries.....or satellite killing missiles. It would be interesting to see what has been developed to combat ballistic missiles that we know nothing about.

i hate to be the one to point this out but China's standing army is much larger than ours could probably ever be. they have like 4 times our population.

...you guys do know that when you use bombs like those, the crap carried by the air currents, could spread all kinds of nastiness. Which is another reason why no one is button crazy...?
if we went to war anytime in the next decade with china...we would lose....as is our brothers are sitting in the desert making do with the garbage this government gives them to fight this war with....it will take at least a decade after this war ends to get morale and equipment up to a level where we can give china a contest...sad fact

China is not Iraq..
They are not even in the same league. I find it funny how people think they know what other countries are capable of. China has nuclear power too. They just go about it a little more quietly than other countries.

Simply put, China has the largest Ground Force in the world. The US has the largest Air Force and Fleet in the World. Unless it resulted to Nuclear war, both countries would be destroyed. However, USAF would smash their AF and their Fleet like nothing. The F-22 and F/A 18 Hornet are the most technologically advanced figher jets in the world. They don't have an Air Force to Compare. We have bigger and badder battleships and cruisers.
IMO, war with China should be avoided at all costs, simply because there will be many a loss for both sides, possibly the rest of the world as well.... just my.02

WOW, so much misinformation here... our tech is 100x's what they have = we win our A/F has more planes and infintely better pilots that they do = we win we have more bomb and they need a good Demil =we should use in Iraq the russians do not have anything that cn detect most of our aircrat and defnately not our stealth aircraft....IE Russin S-300 PMU2 that Israel took out to get into Syria and destroy their Nuke Plant....Syria didnt even know the US and Israel was there= FTL Misinformation Patriot is old as dirt and still more advanced than any rooksie/ chink airdefense= we kill them still we have other things to shoot their missiles down Noth Korea nuked the Pacific Ocean, not a big feat if you ask me China is more of an economic threat than a military threat..while that threat is there it is very minimal and as long as we're not in a bullet battle with china were fine.
Despite what some people think the world does rvolve around the US, when our economy dropped so quickly look what happend...the Jap market dove an ungodly amount, the Euro market did the same thing...you do the math

1 other point on China's A/F their Chengdu j10 fighter has the engine from the MiG-29 which was the only competitor for the F-18 in the world, they bought the engine from russia for X billions and reverse engineered it. our F22 is better faster, and almost liek a stealth jet, not to mention the pilot makes the plane...guess who has better pilots.
