threat might not be the right way to put it..
definately a power, but aside from N. Korea, and Iran, there arent many other 'military threats'
I think MAD is great.

The only current conflict going on right now that I think could cause a serious war is Israel going to war with palestain since there weapons come from russia. Then America would give involved and so would russia

China would beat our a$$ into the ground. They see our ICBM's coming inbound, they are going to fire right back, we kill them, they kill us.
If we went into China, they would still kick our asses. Yeah we have the technology but they will beat us in shear numbers.

I'm not arguing they'd be a threat if provoked.
I meant that currently, China as a military power is not threatening. There are no reasons for either side to be aggressive.
N.Korea and Iran however are, as they are unstable and have fruit cakes with absolute power ruling them.
I didnt meant for it to sound like China raring its ugly head would not be threatening.

Numbers almost mean nothing today. Look at operation Iraqi Freedom. Nearly every military encoutner US forces had with Iraqi forces, the US forces were outnumbered, sometimes by as much as 10:1, yet they still won every single battle. Though we would most likely win any direct military confrontatio with China, the cost in blood and treasure would both be very high. In all liklihood China would prove to be as fierce an adversary as the Nazis were in WWII. We have fought China in the past, in the Korean War, and they proved to be capable fighters.
