Default It's here!!

Welcome to perma-grin! My '05 S 281 SC arrived this a.m. and I picked it up this afternoon. What an awesome car! I've always wanted a car with more power than I knew what to do with and now I have one. It also turned more heads than one as I laid the power down. As soon as we get the wife's computer back from repair I can get some photo's downloaded, but it basically looks the same as swoaxeman's. For anyone that can afford it - GET THIS CAR!

You go boy! I guess there's still hope. I'm gonna hold out for my SC, it does have a little more pizzazz than the s-281. I hope I'm next. How's the manual transmission, is it a smooth shifter?

It's #668. Yes I do believe it has significantly more power than the N/A I test drove - although it might be that I was just a little timid on my test drive. I saw the boost pressure up to 6 or 7 at times, but I also wasn't focused on the guage as driving down the road captured the majority of my attention. Over the next few days I'll have more time to pay attnetion to details. The blower isn't as loud as I thought it might be, but you can hear it. There's the low thunder that is the American muscle V-8 motor with an added high pitched note on top to let you know (at least for me) there is all the power you can handle ready to kick you in the a##! I cna't believe I'm the first one to post about driving an SC. I know there were several people posting on this site that ordered their cars months before me. Like I said in my last post, there is a fire red SC available from Bickford Ford in Snohomish, daveb@bickford.net if anyone is interested. If you do talk to Dave, tell him I sent you, there's a free tank of gas or two in it for me.

Oh yeah, and blackmale322000,, you better practice some more on shifting. It's been several years since I've had a stick but until 1999 that was all I ever drove. I'm out of practice and blew several power shifts today. When you get it right it's SWEET. I also need to figure exactly where the rev limiter cuts in cause I hit it several times today also.

Are you taking it to the Seattle Show tomorrow?

No pre-register, just pay at the door

You know where the show is, it is where you started wearing that big grin you have on your face

damn...nice car and congrats!

lets see some pics of that engine! IMO the engine will probably liven up quite a bit (as far as shreeking goes) after the s/c gets broken in and you get the hang of things.

congrats again! be careful in that thing! lol

Wow - already hit the rev limiter a few times before breaking it in Is this dangerous or can I go ahead and give mine hell?? I've been pretty easy on mine thus far - not taking it much over 4K as the manual says for the first 500 miles.

Curious to know if the majority of you obey the break-in period if you just "get er done" from the moment you first climb in?!

I would defintely take more of your approach for at least the first 600-800 miles.

I am so glad to hear that these cars are finally arriving. I found a dealer on Friday that had one enroute that was pretty close to what I wanted, so I am in the pipeline...

Tell me about the shifter. I drove an NA on Friday and I was not impressed with the shifter. I have not driven a GT to compare it, but I heard the GT has a sloppy shifter. Minor details

Congratulations!!
