I don't normally say anything nice about other Texas schools besides UT but since you're so excited... GET YOUR GUNS UP!! If you don't understand that, you will soon.

Sweet. 1)STUDY YOUR ASS OFF-remember YOU ARE IN A COMPETITION with everyone in your class. 2) Have a back up plan- take some classes/electives in a field you might be interested in. 3) Apply to as many schools as you feel comfortable with. Make sure to look at their requirements and take appropriate classes.(My school did not have the same pre-pharm curriculum as other schools) 4) get involved on campus- Volunteering always looks good, Pharmacy organizations etc. 5) Get a job in a pharmacy- Work Retail, Job Shadow other areas like hospital, nuclear, etc Good luck man it is really a great career. Also take the PCAT as soon as you can.

Eh, thanks backnblack, I have a few friends going to UT and A&M and they are the same way. But most all schools are about the same for say BS or BA degrees. @03: - Getting my CPhT this summer. - Studying sucks, ugh. - Was gonna start up fencing and maybe something else this summer, iunno. - I am going to apply to 5 of the 6 schools in Texas. UTA, Tech, TSU, A&M, Houston. Probably others in other states aswell.

5 of the 6 schools? And why was UT not on that list? If they don't have the program you're looking for then OK but if they do then why are they not on the list as #1?

Sounds like a good start, if you are gonna get into fencing try to get involved in the fencing club or whatever club they have at your school. Leadership roles look really good, be it a committee, treasurer, secretary, or any other position. Also there seemed to be a ton of politics involved at my school, make sure you network. Do you work in a pharmacy now?

UTA = University of Texas at Arlington. LOL All the pharmacy schools are in the secondary campuses for some reasons. A&M in Kingsville, Tech is Amarillo, UT is Arlington, etc.

I know UTA well. My wife graduated from there. Good school but not in the greatest part of town. If you end up at UTA give me a shout and we'll show you around the area.

They'll pay for my PTCB test if I get hired there soo. EDIT: Alright lol, that is atleast 2 years away though. I have to widdle down my 76 semester hours first.

Yeah I work for Walgreens and I was gonna recommend them. By networking I mean try to meet/be known by the faculty of the pharmacy school. Most profs are on the admissions committee and it will def help you out if they recognize your name.
