I have the standard cat-back p/n 15671. My driver's side muffler has almost lost the welded on bracket. The welds that hold it to the muffler seem to have not penetrated properly and it just started bending away on the welds that did hold. This recently occured and I discovered it after hearing the muffler scraping the pavement. Upon further inspection it seems that not only did the welds on the bracket fail, but when this occured the rear cap, i guess is what you call, seperated from the housing at the seam as well. I believe this due to the weld on the bracket allowing it to hang to low. The passenger side is fine, no damage of broken welds whatsoever. Just this one broke, and unfortunately I was on a business trip to where I couldn't stop until I got there. So it got aroud 100 miles of periodically smacking small bumps as so forth. The amount of soot on the end cap where it seperated seems as though it had lost it's seal a while back, but never made contact with anything until the bracket weld finally started to let go.

What can I do to have this resolved? I originally purchased the Magnapack system, but it was too raspy on the 6, so I bought this one to replace it about 3 months later.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with our cat-back and apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. We pride ourselves on quality and customer satisfaction. Your system is covered by a lifetime warranty and from the problem your describing it sounds like it would defiantly be covered. All you need to do is contact the retailer you purchased the kit from and they will get you taken care of on a replacement. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I actually used to work for the retailer I got it from and they are back in Houston where i used to live and I don't believe they are still selling exhaust, kinda had businees issues, hence why I used to work for them. I currently deal with Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge, LA and they are a dealer, would they be able to handle it for me?

Yes, Thunder Racing would be able to handle this for you as well. They would get a new kit in from their supplier and get you taken care of. They would have your current system sent back for a warranty. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Ok, I'll give Angie a call and see what she can do for me. I appreciate it. Is there anything I should reference?

Not a problem. The only thing you may need is the original proof of purchase.

Wow, that'll be tough lol. I think it actually came to D.I. Performance through Keystone. I'm calling her now, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again.

As soon as I get on land, I'm currently offshore, she's said I buy a replacement kit, and put my old stuff back in the box and send it in, and then Magnaflow would send them the credit and they would credit me back. They said they've only done it once and it was a long time ago.

I'm going to be missing my tailpipes, since when it came loose it started hitting the bumper and melting it and it wouldn't fit in the car, and i took off the other one for the sake of it not looking funny. Is that ok?

What did you end up doing with the tailpipes?

Make sure it's noted why your tailpipes are not in the box when you return your kit to Thunder Racing. That way when our warranty department receives it back for inspection they will be able to read why the tailpipes are not included. It shouldn't be a problem.

I had to leave them at the dock, where I took them off. Like I said, I work offshore and I was driving out to a dock, 250mi from home. I actually don't mind them being basically dumped so it's not a huge deal, but those Magnaflow tips look soooo good and everyone like them. lol

Had I not had all my stuff for being offshore for 30 days and working I probably could have managed getting them in the car, but it was definately a no-go in this situation.

Wow, I really do appreciate it. I may have to actually put a Magnaflow sticker on the car. (That actually means a lot for me, I never rock stickers unless they really took care of me).

I guess when I get the new one I'll go ahead and do a write up to post up on here as well.

Outstanding customer service, I'm so glad it still exist.
