i haven't driven my GT in awhile. it just sits in the garage now. it's too much for the street for me anymore. mine LOOKS like "just a GT", and i've actually been thinking about keeping it if it doesn't sell soon. i've just been driving my fiance's civic to work and the BMW on the weekend. well... this weekend i've been taking the c6 out though
Whats stopping me? I mean c`mon 260HP 15k mustang vs a 18-20k 400HP 2005 GTO....hmmmmm yeah thats what will always stop me...i was going to trade my 6 and 1500 cash for a same year gt a few month back...after I drove it I wasn't really impressed and It was a full bolt on gt!!!! So whats stopping me is I"m selling my v6 next month for a 2005 Pontiac GTO...yep!
insurance, money to buy gt, and the fact im in college and want to not worry about diffrent insurance, my parents asking why i needed to buy a new car and arguing to put it under there insurance. other than that once i get out of college and get a real guarenteed job i will buy a gt or cobra or atleast a v8. working as a waiter is great money but not guarenteed.

^^ may i ask what you and your wife do for a living to beable to have a 07 c6 vette, mustang gt, civic and 07 bmw?
she's not my wife yet, and she does not work at the moment. dont worry about what i do. there's plenty of people that have more and nicer cars than me, so i'm nothing special. i will be looking in to trading up the 328 for a 135 or 335 next year probably
insurance on all my vehicles is $230/month for full coverage up to 300k. it's that high because my fiance has a couple of tickets. when she turns 25, 2 of them will get wiped off and she'll get her 25 years old discount, then the marriage discount on top of that. i can't wait!

I can't wait to get my married discount, the 25 was great, but it rarely drops anymor now. I get the good driver discounts and stuff, but my soon-to-be wife has 1 or 2 tickets and I'm not looking forward to picking up the rates on her record.

sounds like you have the same setup as i do! my fiance's rates actually dropped when i added her to mine, but those couple tickets she has still keeps it up somewhat. i can't wait for the marriage discount either

Yeah... I'd LOVE a Lotus Elise... Yep... I said it... Lotus... But the only thing stoppin me is that I'm 19 and can't afford the payments or insurance... Which is why I have a v6 mustang... Don't get me wrong I'm a Ford guy and I LOVE my car... But I want a Lotus... So if u can afford ur GT... Go for it...

yep.. when i had a nearly stock GT with just a vortech, i still got 23+mpg on the highway. judging from mpg threads i've seen in here, that's more than a lot of v6's

Hey now that i've had my car re-tuned its getting about that out of boost... :D
If you can afford a GT or are willing to sacrifice what you must in order to get one, then by all means get a GT. Only you know your financial situation and like you said, you only go around once in life. I'm probably one of the older guys in the sixer forum and I have a 98 V6. I have a 98 V6 for one reason, it runs good. No engine mods and only a few cosmetic upgrades and I'm perfectly happy with my car. I grew up in the age of muscle cars so the V8 isn't that important to me anymore. I've had a 69 Road Runner that came with the 383ci engine but I put a 440 six pack in it. I've had a 1970 Camaro SS with a 350ci big block and some serious engine, tranny and rear end work done on it and I've had a Buick Skylark Custom Convertable which had a 327 chevy small block. Then again, Sunoco 260 octane was only 65 cents a gallon.
Yeah, the days of daily driving a big block MOPAR are OVER!! I don't quite remember gas being 65 cents a gallon, but I do remember 97 cents a gallon, and 100 octane. The gas was a hundred times better, and whole hell of alot cheaper. Now you get this watered down, 87-91 octane here in CA, and my little ol' sixxer pings every once in awhile, what a joke gas is now! Ok, i'll quit now, I'm starting to feel like a cry baby whining about gas prices, but I remember putting in 5 bucks when I was a younger and getting a quarter tank and crusing all day racing around.
