Default My Kicker DC12's and 600 Watt Amp, what you guys think....

Well here are some pics of my system i bought. I thought i could get them in the trunk but yea. lol So the amp went in the trunk and wires got hid. So i still got trunk space. The sub went in the back seat. Which is fine cause only me and my girlfriend ride in the car. I have 2 little brothers andi made it so i only have to unhook the speaker wires running from the amp to the sub and then the box comes right out so i have a back seat. These things pound and got a great deal at Circuit City. Paid $250 for the subs and box and $90 for amp. Now im lookin for a capacitor but thats for later. hear are the pics. Sorry they were takin with a Camera Phone.

Pictures arnt the best but only camera i have. They came out good though. I would like to put them in the trunk but would need a custom box made for them. But thats later on down the road.

O i know the box is upside down, but that was the only way it fit decent in there cause the back is slanted to fit in the trunk against the back seats, so i turned up side down and it slanted to fit in the seat. Dosnt move either.

I had 2 10" Memphis before these with a 1000 watt amp and altenator went out so i wanna get one just to be on the safe side. I go to school and work part time so i dont have money for altenator. But who knows dosnt seem to dim lights that much and battrey gauge dont move. So we will see. I They look better in person but this was the only way i could get these in for now. Ive had a MTX Sledge Hammer before with a 400 watt amp and these Kickers hit way harder and sound way better than the MTX.

I will repeat what he said, caps are a useless piece of audio jewelry and they do nothing to help your electrical system. You will be better off spending that money on a better battery, upgrading your big 3 cables(covered on page 6 of my cardomain page, and getting a new high output alt before you even consider a cap.

Now on to more important subj, safety. What happens when you are driving down the road, look down to adjust your bass and treble for a sec and then notice the cars infront of you have stopped and you can't stop in time? What will happen is that box will make a bad reverse-hood ornament for you and your girl. I know I know you will never let that happen, you are too good of a driver and you will never let that happen right? I have been driving now for exactly half my life and I have had only one accident and that was the description of the wreck I gave you. That box in your back seat not only advertises for somebody to break your window and get some free subs, but is a HUGE safety hazzard if you expect the back of the consol to hold it in place. Your air bag will not work so well when you get hit by a 30 lb brick in your back going 40 mph. Please take the time and little bit of $$$ needed to fix it....

+1 to what ttocs said. when i didnt have my setup screwed down (and i didnt even get into an accident) the subs would slide into the backs of my seats and it gave you a jolt. and thats just under hard braking. BOLT THAT **** DOWN!!! lol.. but seriously...

I think its an accident waiting to happen - NEVER leave an enclosure behind your head
loose like that.........I have seen first hand what happensin a wreckat only 40MPH
and the damage the sub did ........
