I know it's because i'm 18, and we (teenagers) have to litterly pay money for the stupid asses that don't know how to drive. I don't get that at all, why can't they judge me by my driving record for 2 years? It's such a scam man i don't believe it. I have litterly wasted so much money for nothing because I haven't got in one accident, so there is no point in me paying that much for somethng I have no use for.

Insurance is a bigggg scam.

thats in no way related to not having mandatory drivers ed....

to get your motorcycle license you have to take the course, but for a drivers license its a written test, then 2 road tests

some cars cant be imported because of our requirements (crash test usually kills off some sweet cars) but theres always ways around "the law"

You say insurance is a big scam now.  If one day something happens and you actually need it, you'll be glad you have it.

It doesn't matter if you've had a perfect record for two years.  In the grand sceme of it all two years is nothing.  It's not enough experience to consider someone a 'good' driver.

Insurance is such a scam, who needs it, what's it good for? Nothing. Does it protect you from tickets, no. It doesn't pay for it. Accidents, it really doesn't do anything for you. It's not like you couldn't make the person who hit you pay for your damage, if they don't that's why they have small claims courts, and municipal courts.

It protects you from the ticket you will get if you don't have it.

Accidents......doesn't do anything for you.......I guess you have never had one

Have the person who hit you pay for it......I guess you don't have illegals or poor people where you live??

Have you ever considered some scum bag who hits you with no insurance and no assets who leaves you a cripple for life......go ahead and sue them.....what do you think you will get?

My golf is $4600 (approx) a year, i turn 18 in about a week, I have 1 ticket, took drivers ed so theres that "discount"

My new car next weekend will bring my insurance down to about $4000 a year......

like ****

ive never hit anything, never come close to being in an accident

my 1 ticket was just me being a jackass doing 84 in a 50 (nothing was around (but the cop))

so i drive right now a car I paid $1300 for, and I pay $4600 a year for NOTHING

WTF? when has drivers ed become optional?

Depends on what you mean optional. Like before or after the ticket? If it's after it's probably just defensive driving, ask the courts about that, and if you ment before then it probably depends on your state.

You guys who dn't think insurance is a scam are not thinking clearly. Sure NOW you need it, but who ever invented car insurance knew it was just going to bring him the money. Say it weren't even around, you get in an accident, guess what? If it wasn't my fault, I would most def get alllll the info and say, if you don't pay, i'm bringing you to court. I would make them sign a paper saying they would. Then bring it to court. Because what does insurance do now?? You have to wait and wait and waitand wait and wait and wait andwait and wait to get the money, (if you ever do) and it's doing the same thing I can do for free.

It's a money pit, and you don't need it.

Sure you can say bring them to court nothing will happen but either way i would still hve to pay alittle out of my pocket,if they totalled my car. The only way i see insurance remotely worth it, is if you get your car stollen.and even then you still pay more than half the price of the car.

I mean drivers ed as before the ticket

im in Canada

if you take drivers ed it cuts 4 months off the time you have your g1 (learners) until when you can get your g2 (basically full license)

it gives a discount on insurance but not much

and the ticket was just money, no points, and my insurance doesnt know about it yet.....

Insurance is for people like me who drive cars with value and care about them to be repaired when someone hits me with their beater that can barely afford to buy groceries. If there were no insurance, I would have to fix my car out of my own pocket, how is that fair?

IMO i think it's bs that I have to get Auto insurance. I have never had an accident and if I had all the money that I had paid for insurance back then I would have thousands of dollars.

Complete BS IMO.

A lot of states don't have drivers ed anymore. I live in Florida and we don't have it. Schools can't afford to insure their student drivers.  You can take a driving course through an outside instructor, but you're gonna pay out your *** for it.
Btw, this is why Florida drivers suck.

In Qatar you buy your insurance with your car, no monthly payments or renewals, there are no "accidents", and noone is at fault. A collision merely the will of Allah. It's government controlled and there are no ****ty cars on the streets. You can't pass inspection with so much as a deep scratch in the paint, and when you fail, they fix it for you until it passes.

Our system is run by people looking to make a profit, therein lies the flaw.

My insurance isn't that bad. I'm 16 and male. Mine is ~$1200 per year. I guess it's the spotless record and that I drive a 4cyl.
