If you click on my posts, you'll see THAT I LOVE nascar. My brother races SUPER STOCKS. So i know the cars pretty well. My brother is the best driver at the local track. It's his rookie year in this car, but has been racing go karts since 8 years old (shifter karts) then four years ago has been racing NASCARs. Rookie of the year in the Bomber, frst ever to win 2 races in a row, yada yada yada. NOw in his second race in the SUPERSTOCK qualified 4thbut only 1 tenth from poll. Started in 17th and ended in 5th. This isa 3/8 mile track too, so imagine how hard passing is in these cars. He is an amazing driver best out there and has the past season champs yelling at the officialsto let him start where he qualified so they can race with him. (Qualified 4th but started 17th becuase "rookies" have to start in the back for the first 2 races.) BUt like I said he had the best driver in the past who also has a few track championships yell at the officials to let him start in the front with them so they can race. My brother didn't pay 30 grand for the car and motor to start in last, he's here for the championship his rookie year. That's what they guy said, but it's in the rule book so they couldn't do anything.

I have a few pics of the car if you're interested.

WTF!?!?!?!?!... Michael Schumacher is retired and could stillmake Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr., just about any NASCAR driver his personal bitch if he wanted to. If Ayrton Senna were alive now, you'd have the two best racing drivers God has ever created. Earnhardt Sr. would be a very, very distant third.

Thank you for making the most ignorant comment in the entire thread. F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport racing. Every form of open wheel racing is a stepping stone to get to F1, and those that can't cut it there step down to "stock cars". A couple names come to mind, lets see......Villenueve (sp?)........Montoya........

I don't think there has ever been a Winston Cup driver in F1, they are so entirely different that they couldn't handle it. "You mean I have to turn right too?!? OMG WTF am I gonna do?!? I can't bump or hit people?!? How am I gonna pass somebody?"

Schumacher is the best driver alive in the world today, and IMO if he and Ayrton Senna had had more time together it would have been proven that he was also better than Senna. Look at Schumacher, wins F1 World Championship 7 times, and holds virtually every record in the books. He retires, and is now semi-pro on superbikes. That takes insane amounts of talent.

No i'm talking about NASCAR.

Anyway, you can't compare the 2 sports. My brother and i'll say this again, raced shifter karts throughout his life and has raced scott speed. Who as you know was in F1 2 years ago. My brother was better than him, but didn't have the money, and now my brother is in nascar.

Scott SPeed is too, BUT he really isn't that great in it either. My brother is very talented getting praised by everyone at the track and on the radio.

Anyway, Jeff Gordon drove an F1 car, and said it was pretty difficult but managed to get a few decent laps in. Then the guys car he drove drove Gordons nascar. He said it was pretty hard nd got a few so so laps in

Now look at Franchiti and Montoya and the other open wheeled fames, and look where they are at. Dario Franchiti BARELY makes some of the races Montoya SUCKS.

Even when they go to the 2 road courses they don't pull un godly times, **** Montoya didn't eve qualify poll. Tony Stewart won a few. See you can't compare these two racing sports both totaly different.

I stand corrected, this is the most ignorant statement in this thread [&:]

Yes, Scot Speed was in F1 for a while. It was hoped that he would help increase American interest in the sport. He scored a whole one or two points in his very short career and was let go because he was so unreliable and generally used poor judgement in passing situations. He was constantly hitting people.

I am not saying it takes no skill at all to drive Nascar, because I know it does. It is just a radically different set of skills when compared to F1 or open wheel racing in general. I just find it entertaining that this guy actually seems to believe Nascar drivers are so much better than F1 drivers.

On TV, it isn't much fun till like 25 laps to go. But when you get inside the cockpit with the blazing engines, the gauges, the nudges at 200mph, and the draft... it's ****ing amazing.

No offense, but Nascar should be American car companies only, with the new shells.

I might go to the German Grand Prix, my dad is full german and wants to go watch it. He loves schumacher so much as do i. But both racing takes 2 differen't skills, one may b harder than the other but not by much. Look at montoya he's STRUGGLING, he SUCKS and he camefrom f1. So I mean come on, it must be a little bit harder to "turn left." I know it's harder but some of you don't understand.

Just watching my bro come off turn 4 inches from the wall at 100 mph makes me cringe when he's side by side with someone. I know I wouldn't be able to go balls to the wall like him.

At least that seems to be pretty universal. Montoya was not well liked in F1 either :D

haha supporting hilary clinton... thats just un-american... but f1 is boring those guys suck. when the winston cup drivers race f1 they kick ass. the f1 drivers just arnt as good

Up until VERY recently F1 has always been about the CAR. Who ever had the best car won. Dosnt matter who was in it. Only exception would be Shumacher was always the best in the rain. In the rain a F1 race was more about the driver. Schumacher usuallygot to drivethe best cars. Even when his team mates were winning they would have to let Micheal by for the winbecause of "team orders". Thats about the time I gave up watching F1 every week end because it was so pretentious.

Schumacher did give me one of my favorite quotes. "There is a fixed amount of intelligence in the world& the population is growing". I think he was referring to an on track incident but it works any where.

F1 driverstend have the most stuck up, self righteous, every one else alive is my slave, personalities. This is why Montoya dosnt fit in.

I see that F1 ismoveing more towards limiting technologies, traction & makeing the drivers talent figure in more. I like that.

Did I say that NASCAR rocks? I like just about all the drivers but I like to see Harvick, Schreider or Jeff Burtonwin.

NASCAR is like any sport, once you know all the personalities its much more interesting. A lot more to it than just making laps. I have heard rumors of FORD useing the Mustang body, it would be perfect for the shape of the "new car".

If you want to see some thing spectacular go to the August night race @ Bristo Tenn. 180K people in stands that tower 220' in the air, watching43cars around a 1/2 mile track!!!!!!!

In my best John Lovits ...."but thats what I think".
