ok guys, I just recently bought a 2008 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 V6 motor. I plan on getting JBA headers, a bassani true dual catback and an air intake
my question to you guys, that hopefully someone will know....is the 4.0 in my ranger the same thats in your mustangs? I'm kinda hoping it is so that if I really want to get into things like ported heads/cams, I wouldnt have too much trouble looking
any feeback would be great :)

From what I have been told it is the same block and the same trany as the Ranger I just do not know if the heads are the same or other internals are the same
im sure the cams in the Ranger are specifically ground more for low end TQ and towing, but i figured is was similar to say, a 4.6 in a mustang vs a 4.6 in a F150....
just curious really. I'm about 2 months into my factory warrantee...believe me, i aint going nuts into the motor for a while hahaha, just curious haha

i thought there was a difference in the motor...block same, but internals are a little different to raise the HP...also, the ranger 4.0s are flex-fuel where the mustang's motor isn't...maybe that's where the hp difference comes from...
