I did a complete show ready detail on my boss' Miata this weekend, so he can sell it.  It is a 2000 with 32k miles on the clock, and to be honest other than the occasional wash, I'm not sure it has EVER been cleaned.  The interior looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed ever and the original mats were filthy and crusty with cheezy rubber mats on top of them!  Dust everywhere, in every damn nook and cranny.  And the paint, well it was purple and seemed to drink water when it got wet   The engine bay looked like 132k miles, and the trunk looked like somebody dumped a bag of pine needles and grass seed in it.  Needless to say it was a lot of work...8 hours total.

*Engine Bright Engine Bay Degreas & Power Rinse
*Liberal coating of CD-2 Engine Detailer
*Complete vacuum of entire trunk area
*Complete vacuum and liberal shot of upholstry cleaner on the carpet and floor mats, followed by a liberal scrubbing with the Porter Cable & brush attachment (this really cleaned it up and revitalized the carpet)
*Complete degreasing of all the interior plastic (plenty of black scuff marks all around), followed by dressing all of the plastic with Obsessive Detail's Silk Shine
*Leather cleaned and conditioned (two separate products) with Lexol
*Washed and clayed.
*Step 1 orange cutting pad and Optimum Compound.
*Step 2 white polish pad and Optimum Polish
*Step 3 grey finish pad and OD's Glaze
*Step 4 OD's Wet Wax by hand
*And last but not least a little Stoners More Shine Less Time on the tires and of course Invisible Glass on the Windows.

Only took a couple before shots of the paint (sorry, none of the nasty engine bay or interior) to show the neglect and one of the several scratches from the way he mistreats the surface.

Major rubs/scratches on top of the fender contour in the middle

So my camera is not the best, might be time for a new one , but this will give you an idea of how much a I worked my a$$ off

And last but not least, CD-2 doing its thang

Looks brand new to me, nice work. I want to see a before/after of the engine bay though because that engine bay looks pretty clean.

Sorry man, I didn't have the forethought to snap any before pics of the engine bay or interior   But you'll have to just trust me when I say they both looked like a car with 132k miles    Let me put it to you this way - the black pieces looked greyish/brown at best, and the purple parts were definitely not purple when I started as they were layered with grime
