Because it kind of is. Why buy a V6 when the GT has like a $4000 higher MSRP(you can buy a 05-06 GT for what a new 08 V6 costs). As always(especially with the S197) the V6 cars just look cheap, they don't look nearly as good as the V8s for some reason.
Don't feel like reading through all the responses, does he drive an SS, SS/SC or a base model?

people call the v6 mustang a "chick" car because if you haven't looked around lately.... there are a LOT of girls that drive v6 mustangs, especially convertibles..... not saying cobalts and civics aren't either. It wouldn't be called a chick car if so many girls didnt drive them but the fact is lots of girls buy v6 mustangs.

Well study hall class, theres this guy taylor, hes a senior and he has a cobalt and he thinks its the best car in the world. His car looks like RICE. So today me and three other guys are talking about cars, and the Taylor said on saturday a guy with a v6 mustang pulled up to him and started revving it. He said he beat the mustang by just a few feet, i was like **** show me a video. Then this kid Dave was like v6 mustangs are for chicks. I was like what the hell are you talking about, some people buy the v6 for the looks and it's a reasonable price for a great looking car, if you got the extra 8 grand buy a GT. I told him the reason why I have a v6 mustang was because of insurance,gas and costs way more.
He's like the v6 mustang is a piece of **** because it has 1 muffler and it's bented downwards, I was like wow kid, race me after school, hes like ok I'll take you. His car has all this weird **** done too it, mines bone stock 07 white pony package. By the way the kid Dave has a 04 civic lol. So after school we go to this open street where nobody drives. 3 horns then we go, I couldnt get a video because I was driving but I beat the hell out of him so bad, I couldnt stop laughing. I know street racing is dangerous but this was a must race. Then I go back and talk to him and he's like It's still a chick car. He pulled off and I couldnt stop laughing at him. Why do you think people call v6 stangs chick cars? Really pisses me off.

I had one myself, and I never stopped catching ****. If you own a V6 you'll hear about GT's. If you own a GT you'll hear about Mach's or Cobras. It's just how it happens. People love to **** with you. You beat him, congrats.

To the OP-- I beat a Cobalt SS when all I had was an intake, and exhaust. You should be allright.
BS. I know a gal with an SS I could set you up with. Gaurunteed she'd beat you and it 's STOCK, (though we've raced and we're close, I'm still faster, and she pulled a car on me on average at 100 mph).

Most people say SN95's in general are chick cars.

there is about atleast 5 mustangs(all driven by guys) in my school. I'm the only one with a V8 cobra though, everyone else has sh!tters...I'm sorry I meant to say sixxers.

Did you understand my point? I was simply explaining that you should be happy with what you got. You got it because you wanted it, but there are haters out there. Don't let them talk you out of it, since they are just jealous, and the fact that they always find something wrong with what you got only proves that. When I had my V6, I "shoulda got a V8", now that I have my GT I "shoulda got a Mach or a Cobra". It's how these people are.They love taking your inventory and bringing you down to thier level.
The only reason I upgraded to a GT was my inability to justify modding the 3.8. Mine was falling apart, had a lot of maintenance required, and it never really commanded respect. I did enjoy being on the same level as most of the econo boxes out there, though. Being able to have an even race with a CRX or a civic or a sentra was fun. Nowadays, my stockish GT means anybody I'm willing to race is going to beat me... but I'd ruin anybody I used to be able to race.

V6's are always looked at as girl cars b/c like stated: 1. Lots of girls drive them 2. They are the smaller engine model of the mustang.
Lots of people like calling the smaller engine model cars from their type of cars, girl cars. I bet if you check cobalt forums, ss people will talk about non-ss cobalts as girl cars or the charger forums where the r/t people look down upon the sxt people as driving girl cars and the same will happen to the camaro when it comes out(probably with a 6 cylinder). It's mostly an ego and asshole thing, or if it comes from a comedial person it's a joking thing. Me and my friends constantly joke around to pick stuff out that makes my car not the best possible car. Examples: -Only a 5-speed manual? Shoulda got a 6-speed or replace it with a 6 speed. -Only 325hp crank stock? Shoulda got something with 400hp+ -Naturally Aspirated V8? The only real V8 is a force inductioned one -Only no cats and resonators for your exhaust? Should put in some longtubes or run open headers
You get the point. If you look at cars, all have their fallacies compared to other cars. The fact is the V6 mustang (I've owned one) is a great american V6 car from the factory and the fastest car for under $20k. With my heavily modded V6 I took down a lot of respectable cars for my car being a bolt-on 6 (accords, mustang gt's, 5.0's, gti's, s2000, you get the point). Don't let anyone put you down for owning a V6 stang, and if a mustang gt owner puts you down, bust their balls for not getting the next higher model (V6<GT<Mach 1<SVT Cobra(f/i one, aka terminator)<Shelby GT 500<and in rare cases Saleen S7).
Yeah my insurance with my v6 stang in chicago is 900$ a year. The Gt is 2300$. I cant afford paying that much. And with me having a mustang at the age 17, girls always come into my car and just chill with me and it's so fun taking them for a ride lol!.
I never street race ever, I only have a few times, I've had a friend die from racing and I just use my v6 stang just to cruise, take me to school and work. I always get some good looks having it. It's a nice feeling. Some kids don't even know that there are better models for the mustang. To them its a mustang. They think it'd a expensive car but yet it's not. I wish I had a GT but I love my v6. It looks good, performs good for the price and lasty gets me pussy.
