I mean no offense by this comment....but is a charger really a competing brand with a mustang? I figured a challenger maybe....but not a charger. Chargers are really heavy.

Always dependent on how you view your vehicle ... personally as a 'pony' car, 2+2 .... the Mustang didn't 'really' have a domestic competitor until the Challenger came back. Still looking forward to the return of the Camaro, TA. The Challenger is very heavy also .. but with 2 doors, a back seat and a V8, it falls directly in category.
well apparently they are convinced they are.. i do have to say that a bunch of the people seemed to be good guys on that thread and thought it was stupid to talk smack, the one guy saying he was running 12.9 and could kill any stang was well interesting. as dude from mustang mag just ran his pony stock with a tune and got 12.9s.. so hmmm , think id take that pepsi challenge
I agree. The Charger, even if taken to 500hp is still 4150 lbs. I mean come on. People are critical of the 05 Mustangs at 3500lbs and SC ed with a few suspension goodies and better brakes come in at 3620lbs or so.
A Charger would have to have 632 flywheel HP up from 426hp to be as fast as my Pony because of the weight difference. The added 550lbs of that car would require approx 82hp additionally on top of matching my 550 flywheel HP. Erik

I hadn't heard that stock mustangs were running in the 12's. Maybe with slicks... but otherwise I'd have to see it to believe it on a "bone stock" mustang with just a "tune".
[soapbox]
I do get pretty tired of the various "bash the other guy" threads. Can't anyone think of anything else to talk about?
Anyone with a brain knows that every car has it's strength's and weaknesses, it's good points and bad. Some cars are faster stock than others... Some cars are better at turning and some are better at straight line. Some cost more, some cost less... and once you start adding mods, it's generally whomever has the fattest wallet that wins, not a particular car.
