Not so that I can be an ignorant loudmouth and show it off, but for serious protection. I prolly won't tell anyone about it, and I won't carry it until i'm good with it. Lots of range time. But yeah, nowadays, there are too many psychos out there. lol jtmustang 04-28-2008, 03:38 PM ahh dude when your 18 where do u live in wshington u have to be 21 to have a handgun let alone a concealed weapons permit? PRO50SC 04-28-2008, 03:45 PM This is hardly a question for this section. If you can do that you should be able to drive away from your threat. surfbum7190 04-28-2008, 05:33 PM yea but state law says i gotta keep the shotgun in the trunk. but hey you never know if someone would need my assistnace josmoe5000 04-28-2008, 05:35 PM ORIGINAL: surfbum7190 yea but state law says i gotta keep the shotgun in the trunk. but hey you never know if someone would need my assistnace I'm glad you follow the law in regards to guns. A gun charge on your record can really screw things up for you. rmodel65 04-28-2008, 05:37 PM in ga you can carry anywhere except public gatherings(church, free concerts, political rallies, etc)govt buildings, state parks(city and counties are legal to carry the state doesnt allow them to make it illegal) and places that sell alcohol on the premises for consumption, and public transportation(this is probably about to change) surfbum7190 04-28-2008, 05:37 PM yea i know but im goin in the army come july so ill have a conceiled weapons license and be able to cary around my 44 or 454. i cant wait josmoe5000 04-28-2008, 05:40 PM ORIGINAL: surfbum7190 yea i know but im goin in the army come july so ill have a conceiled weapons license and be able to cary around my 44 or 454. i cant wait Sweet! Thomas Jefferson im pretty sure he also said (im paraphrazing) "The time you need your gun the most is when the government tries to take it away" godminus1 04-28-2008, 10:06 PM I can understand wanting to carry certain places, but not everywhere. Why would you want to carry a 44? Get a 38 pocket pistol. Something you don't even know you're carrying. In the case that you actually do need it, it'll be easier to handle. surfbum7190 04-28-2008, 10:09 PM .44 will put anyone on the ground no matter where u hit them. very accurate with a rifled barrel.can be conceiled with a holster easily. will never jam godminus1 04-28-2008, 10:21 PM But it's not necessary. A 38 with hydroshock will knock someone down just as fast. It'll be lighter and more comfortable to carry. josmoe5000 04-28-2008, 10:21 PM ORIGINAL: godminus1 I can understand wanting to carry certain places, but not everywhere. Right, because we always know when we are going to need it. The same reasonyou only need to put on yourseat beltright before an accident. godminus1 04-28-2008, 10:25 PM That's somewhat true. I think alot of it depends on the circumstance though. surfbum7190 04-28-2008, 10:28 PM ORIGINAL: godminus1 But it's not necessary. A 38 with hydroshock will knock someone down just as fast. It'll be lighter and more comfortable to carry. the reason im so favorable to the 44 is cause this might seem dumb but i was listening to a radio program and a 4 tour medal of honor winner from vietnam was on and was asked the question of his weapon of choice would be in a hand to hand combat situation with a single gunmen. he said the 44 revolver because it is enough caliber to penitrate protection, and has awesome stopping power. i trust this man because god only knows how many men he has killed. godminus1 04-28-2008, 10:32 PM I respect that. Just imagine dragging that thing around with you everywhere. S&W makes some nice small frame 5 shot revolvers that have a nice little pocket holster. It's like carrying an extra cell phone in your pocket. Humboldt Stang 04-28-2008, 10:39 PM ORIGINAL: godminus1 I respect that. Just imagine dragging that thing around with you everywhere. The 44 would be a better for home defense than carry. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=11101&storeId=10001&produ ctId=14793&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=15704&isFirearm=Y josmoe5000 04-28-2008, 10:51 PM Surfbum, Look at the Glock 27 it's compact and shoots a .40 caliber. I have the Glock 26. They are both the same size but the 26 is a 9mm. It's a good sized gunfor carry. |
