I'm 16, but I plan to carry one when i'm 18 and got my permit. Not so that I can be an ignorant loudmouth and show it off, but for serious protection. I prolly won't tell anyone about it, and I won't carry it until i'm good with it. Lots of range time. But yeah, nowadays, there are too many psychos out there. lol

i have a .357 a .44 a .454 and a .5 revolver, a desert eagle 10 inch barrel. 10 gauge double barrel 12 gauge pump shotguns a 10 gauge sawed off pistol grip. now im only 18 so i cant carry it conceiled but i keep a shotgun in my trunk. once im in the army come july 18 ill carry the .44 revolver full time because it is the ultimate weapon if i were to ever run into trouble

well some of us live in places where you can carry guns in your car... its always a safe thing to have because you just never know. here in pa you dont need a license to carry a gun, you only need one to conceil it (holster it). so i choose to keep one in my trunk

I have my permit and carry almost everywhere I go. In FL you don't need a permit to keep on loaded and unlocked in your glove box.

Yes, but in your case. If something happened you probably won't have time to get out and open your trunk. If you can do that you should be able to drive away from your threat.

yea but state law says i gotta keep the shotgun in the trunk. but hey you never know if someone would need my assistnace

I'm glad you follow the law in regards to guns. A gun charge on your record can really screw things up for you.

in ga you can carry anywhere except public gatherings(church, free concerts, political rallies, etc)govt buildings, state parks(city and counties are legal to carry the state doesnt allow them to make it illegal) and places that sell alcohol on the premises for consumption, and public transportation(this is probably about to change)

I carry to church all the time. Not only is there a possability of a nut job coming in shooting (as happened not that long ago in another state) but there is always the car ride to and from.

ga has a lot of places off limits compared to other states, but we have a lot of snow birds from up north that try to put pressure on the politicians

i'm 18, live in jersey...and will soon be applying for my permit to own, and a conceiled carry permit...i plan on going into law enforcement (DEA, US Marshalls, or Secret Service) so i have a "reason" to carry and own...i don't want my first shooting a gun to be at the academy..

im pretty sure he also said (im paraphrazing) "The time you need your gun the most is when the government tries to take it away"

I can understand wanting to carry certain places, but not everywhere. Why would you want to carry a 44? Get a 38 pocket pistol. Something you don't even know you're carrying. In the case that you actually do need it, it'll be easier to handle.

surfbum7190

.44 will put anyone on the ground no matter where u hit them. very accurate with a rifled barrel.can be conceiled with a holster easily. will never jam

But it's not necessary. A 38 with hydroshock will knock someone down just as fast. It'll be lighter and more comfortable to carry.

Right, because we always know when we are going to need it. The same reasonyou only need to put on yourseat beltright before an accident.

That's somewhat true. I think alot of it depends on the circumstance though.

the reason im so favorable to the 44 is cause this might seem dumb but i was listening to a radio program and a 4 tour medal of honor winner from vietnam was on and was asked the question of his weapon of choice would be in a hand to hand combat situation with a single gunmen. he said the 44 revolver because it is enough caliber to penitrate protection, and has awesome stopping power. i trust this man because god only knows how many men he has killed.

I respect that. Just imagine dragging that thing around with you everywhere. S&W makes some nice small frame 5 shot revolvers that have a nice little pocket holster. It's like carrying an extra cell phone in your pocket.

I'll be picking up my S&W 642 in a week.
Have speed loaders and laser grips on the way.
My Glock 36 is gonna be so jealous.

Like he said the S&W 642 is an awesome carry pistol. The 44 would be a better for home defense than carry.

Surfbum,

Look at the Glock 27 it's compact and shoots a .40 caliber. I have the Glock 26. They are both the same size but the 26 is a 9mm. It's a good sized gunfor carry.
