i kno theres been a gas thread on here before but just thought this was worth sharing. the gf and i went on a little vacation this past weekend to virginia mountains. i drove the stang and figured the 350 mile trip one way, 700 total, would prolly require me to get gas at least 3 times the whole trip. to my amazement i got 400+ miles before filling up the first time and another 430 miles the second. and this is in the mountains. hills and whatnot. does everyone get gas like this?

I usually fill up right around a half a tank, but I get about 21.3 mpg in the city.

If I am driving strictly highway I can get 400+ out of a tank. With my normal city/highway commutes to and from work, I get anywhere from 330-360 on a tank.

i can get 400+ consistently on highway.. with city/highway (my daily commute) i get ~24mpg

I have been getting about 21 or so in mixed driving and the car only has 1500 miles on it. Has anyone noticed that it gets better after a few thousand miles?

I usually get about 280 to a tank with my commute of mixed hwy/city.  I don't drive overly conservative but I try to keep it under control.  I average about 18.5 mpg which I don't consider good at all.  I have a vert, and I'm a little curious to see if all of the people claiming very good gas mileage in this thread are driving coupes.  Just from lurking on various threads on this forum over time, there does seem to be a pattern developing where most (not all) people complaining of bad mileage are driving verts.  The verts are heavier, but I wouldn't think roughly 200lbs would be heavy enough to account for a difference of 250 miles to a tank vs 400 miles to a tank.

Your fuel filter is still so new that it lets excess fuel through.  Nothing to worry about, when I replaced my fuel filter I got lackluster gas mileage for the first couple thousand miles as well.

As an average (all city driving) I seem to get around 18 mpg.

I usually get about 400 km (250 miles) to a tank. That's where I fill it up, that is.  If I ran it dry, the computer thing tells me I should get about 480 km (300 miles) per tank.

I don't know what that would go up to if I was running it on the highway at all, but it seems pretty decent for a city car.

i think i've gotten 340 or so, but i don't let it get down that low...straight highway i've gotten 26-7 going 75mph, but being my normal lead-footed self in town, i get around 20, so not too shabby...that is pretty impressive though

and that's with the cheap 89 octane ethanol/gasahol (not e85[;)]) so i guess if i used premium i might get a couple mpg more, but not worth it to me

I don't do alot of highway, but I get about 17.5 - 18 around town in a vert

I am still running the fuel the stealership put in her some 16 months ago.
Does fuel go bad over time?

Let me see thats about 35-38mpg....I'm guessing thet the "special device" is three guys to push it the last 200 per tank? or maybe its a ....FLUX CAPACITOR!

I just got back from a trip to Utah.  80mph all the way across WY.  31mpg on average.  That would be about 430 miles on a tank.  I don't let it get that low.

That's great milage! Are you using 87 octane? Do you have any mods? CAI, Tune?
