I was going to go with the duals at first. But, my limited experience with exhaust prompted me to stick with just one for now. I was going to see if I liked the 40's before I forked out more dinero for the pipe job and the other muffler. I figured , if I liked it I can use the one I got and get the rest done at a later time. I also found a mechanic who was estatic to do a new Stang with a Flow just to hear it growl. I've only got one and it sounds awesome, I will definately go with duals when the money comes!! He also welded the tailpipe onto the new 40 to keep it looking stock.

Air filters and other bolt ons....

You are protected by the Moss-Magnuson Act on this guys. The dealership would have to prove that any modifications made were the cause of whatever problem you're trying to get Warranty work for... and even if they do, it's only on affected systems. Soo... if you put on an aftermaket exaust... Ford won't cover the new exaust. (DUH!)

This is why it's almost always a good idea to wait for some kind of consensus on how safe any given mod is for the car. I only added a smaller supercharger pulley on my MINI once some heavyweight people that know what they are talking about did plenty of R&D, track time, and real world long term testing.

Did you get the 40 or the new Super 40? The Super 40 sounds sweet.

... but I am also looking at Pypes new Violator muffler http://www.pypesexhaust.com/mufflers.html (check out the sound clip) I'm not sure if I want to be that noticed though.

How do yours compare to these? Maybe you can post a sound byte? Can we do that here?

You do realize that if that is all you have for the CAI you are probably losing power right? I mean you're sucking in air from the engine compartment as opposed to the fender.

I made my own CAI.

I put a K&N drop-in on mine and it appears my mileage has gone up. Last tank I got 23 and this tank is looking like it'll finish up at 25 despite more A/C use. I really wasn't expecting any improvement, it was a pleasant surprise. Between the filter and GT muffler it feels like it has more "oomph" although it's hard to tell with incremental changes like this.

Ford will let you do a cold air intake with no warr. voiding. People need to stop thinking that everything you do will void your warranty. If it is bolt on there is not a real problem. They hate the K&N more than the cai, bec. people do not know how to oil them and too much oil will get on the mass air sensor and cause problems. That will void the warranty. But you need to realize that all the things you do will not void the entire warranty only if you have a problem that can be linked to the mod that problem will not be covered. If you put ud pullies on and burn out the bearings in you engine that wont be covered. But the warranty still covers everything else.
