so what do people think about the saleen blower? i've heard you can get more hp from it by just gettin a diff pulley and you can do other things too.. but what about whipple and vortech and kenne bell? i know you can do the same thing, but which gets the best hp without having to do that, and which is best costwise? also whats the difference between the roots/twin screw and the centrifugal? how do i know what to get? are they the same price range? i'm not lookin for a beastly race/track car.. i'm just lookin for the mid 4-5xx hp range.. its my daily driver so i'd like it to get somewhat good mileage too (of course not lookin for like 25-30 mpg) unless possible with all that power... i'm probably not going to get one too soon, lookin to get a body kit first.. depends if i can sell my other car for a good amount, and its up to my dad too.. thanks for the help in advance

if you do a search for superchargers or search the brand name you will get alot of info. i will help with some questions.
i love the saleen but i also have one. they all will make 400rwhp plus. vortech may be the cheapest. the twin screw will make make boost at a lower rpm then the centrifugal which builds boost. the "general" rule is the twin is good on the street because you get higher boost at lower rpms and the centtrifugal is good for the track. either one will be fun to drive. as long as you don't run the car hard you will get about the same gas mileage.

What part of the power band are you looking to improve? That will tell you what style of blower you want to look into.

Id say do some searching and some research and come back with some questions that you couldnt find answers to. it really depends on what kind of power you want and where and what you use the car for and how you use it. Overall the Saleen kit is great, I love mine and wouldnt trade it for any others. Ease of install, toned down looks and the down low power band make it my favourite

I have a KB and I love it, but I wouldn't mind having the Saleen blower. It all depends on application, what you want andhow much you want to spend.

What does JDM warranty? The blower? sure your motor/tranny, I dont think so

i'm not sure but they told me if they installed the blower, there was a warranty, vs if i installed it myself..

I wouldn't recommend them but Roush blowers retain your full warranty...

No matter what you go with, to some extent you'll question your choice. I got a hell of a deal on a new Saleen SC($3200 shipped) a few months ago. I have been looking for upgrades before I have it installed but I'm either to late and miss a part I need or the part is used and I dont trust used stuff. I'm now going with Brenspeeds Stage 3 upgrade kit which is @ $1500. I'd like to get a GT500 fuel pump but the Brenspeed guys said I would be just fine with the KB BAP. My goal is @ 450-480 rwhp. So by the time I order the upgrade kit and have everything installed and dyno tuned I'm in for about $6300. Not bad at all to have a strong street car. I thought about Brenspeeds Hellion turbo kit but no matter what I didnt want to go over 500rwhp and have to get forged internal. You should have alot of fun with Saleen SC and from everything I've read go with Saleen, Whipple, or Kenne Bell. If you have big goals go turbo.

Why not? Roush setups are very complete and don't have any problems at all. They maintain pretty good fuel economy. It will also get to the 400 hp goal he has.

OP - Your needs will tell you what blower works best. Never get one because someone says they liked it. I have a roots blower because the area my car was lacking was low end tq. Positive displacement blowers are great at that. People can point all kinds of fingers about heat etc... but you know what, at the end of the day, it did what I needed it to. And fairly cheap.
Centri blowers are great for mid and high end power. To me, I never drive up in that range, so I didn't go that route. But if that is were you need your power, then look into those types.

From what I've read, they lack power. But you are correct if not that much more than 400 is his goal. Plue, putting a Roush charger in a Saleen car or vice versa is just kind of silly IMO [8D]

Based on your comments, get a Twin Screw, Saleen, KB or Whipple.

Depending on whatyear its going on...SN954.6L made 380 rhwp "stock", over 400 justw/pulley swap.S197 4.6L cars made 435 fly wheel. Seems good to me.

I agree about crossing over, but I assumed he didn't have a Saleen or a Roush based on his comment about needing a body kit still.

I was under the impression he was wanting to get a Saleen body kit I believe, not sure though

Saleen will pick up the remainder of the powertrain warranty if a Speedlab facility installs it. Stock tune only though, I think.

If you havent read it yet, MM&FF just named the Saleen SC the #1 S197 blower out there. Check out the article, its pretty informative about all the blowers available out there!

I've been from 376rwhp with my original stock Saleen tune, all the way up to 507rwhp with my Saleen/JDM E-car tune, and have now happily settled down to 475rwhp on my JDM 3.2 pulley 12lb tune. All of these have run geat with my Saleen SC, and have quality support in many places. Erik
