I've got a 2002 GT and I need to gain access to my stereo, one person told me to take the shifter bezel off , and one person told me I didn't.   They told me to to take the knob off my shifter and just pull strait up on the leather and the bezel will come off,  I'm sorry but that doesn't sound right.

It is much easier if you DO take off the shifter bezel.  DON'T pull ON the leather, but take your finger tips and grab under the shifter bezel, closest to the center console and pull up.  The clips are very tight on my car for the shifter bezel, so it takes a good jerk.  This will give you room to get your hand in behind the center trim to pull that off.

Let me know if you need any other help.

unscrew the knob take of the shifter bezel it just pops off then you take off the trim piece by just pulling it straight out it will then give you access to the hex bolts holding the radio in

Try to get your fingernails, then work your fingers in, under the edge at the top corners of the shift bezel. Thats the best place to be pulling on it. You won't break it, don't worry.
