94-04 Mustang electronic cruise control clutch disconnect wiring (vehicle must have manual transmission with factory cruise control)
I purchased (used) servo, cable, steering wheel and brake/clutch switches. I've hooked everything up, but there is one set of wires from the car's harness that go to the clutch disconnect switch which don't have the correct connector (or long enough lead) to hook up. My Ford Shop Manual (specific to the '99 Mustang) shows the lead for this switch being disconnected from the wiring harness (to remove the pedal assembly) so there must be a wiring 'pigtail' (for lack of a better term) that connects between the vehicle wiring harness & the clutch disconnect switch.
The clutch pedal switch has two sets of wires (2 different plugs) going into it. One set is for the starter circuit (to disable the starter unless you have the clutch pedal all the way down) and the other set is for the cruise circuit (to disable the cruise as soon as the clutch pedal is touched). The set for the starter circuit goes directly into the wiring harness, but the set for the cruise circuit goes up towards the top of the pedal assembly, then connects to the wiring harness with a 2-prong plug (no hacking of the factory wiring harness is necessary). I'm not sure which wire goes to which prong on the cruise disconnect plug, or I'd make my own wiring pigtail for this part. It can be traced from the cruise disconnect set on the clutch switch to another plug on the wiring harness. The wires are maybe 18" or so long ... according to the rendering in the Mustang Shop Manual.
Here are some pictures of what I'm talking about (sorry about the poor quality of the photos). The clutch switch picture shows the starter circuit is plugged in, but the cruise circuit socket is empty. The wiring picture shows the green wires that are for the clutch cruise disconnect (according to the factory Ford '99 Ford Mustang shop manual.) I pulled them down from the factory harness so you could see that the plug cannot connect to the clutch switch. There has to be wires/plugs that interconnect ... that's what the factory manual shows, anyway. Hope the pictures help you see what I'm talking about.
