until this car is paid off. My mileage 2 months ago was 14970, as of today it is 15100. I can't afford to drive this thing with the cost of a fill up being about 60 bucks per week. My fiancee has a honda fit that we have been carpooling to work...it has a 8 gallon tank and about 40mpg.

I have pretty much parked the stang except for the occassional trip to the store and back like 10 miles a week. maybe after this 18,800 is paid off that I owe on it, i will be able to drive it!

luckily i only drive about 5 miles a day now...was driving 150/day, but i was gettin mileage cuz it was for work  how much are your payments? mine are only a lil less than 350...but, still can't wait for it to be paid for...figure each year i get my tax refund, i'll make a large payment on the balance, since the interest is what's getting me(10% cuz it's my first loan)....or maybe do the big payment to my student loans...hmmm lol

id do a payoff from the bank. i did that and i pay half what i was origanally paying. i figured over the next 5 years id be paying close to 10k on interest alone so why pay the dealership all that money when the car is only 18/19k. also whatever u pay u prolly end up paying a tiny portion of the payment itself. for example if u pay 400 dollars a month only about 100 or so goes to the principle. sure the bank owns the car for about 2 years but its worth it and u save alot of cash.

i used to work in finance at our local dealership and thats whats how i found this out.

this is just my opinion so whatever u do is up to u. just trying to help out a lil

Bleh..
figure if gas is $3.00 a gallon thats $45 bucks to fill a 15 gallon tank.

figure if gas is $4.00 a gallon thats $60 bucks to fill a 15 gallon tank.

I drive minimum of 50 miles each day.  I have to fill up about once a week.  That mean I am paying an extra $30-60 bucks a month in gas because of the high prices, if $30-60 bucks month is make or break of me driving me stang, I wouldn't have bought one in the first place.  I would pay an extra $100 bucks a month to not have to drive some foreign import car.  Yes it would be nice if I got 40-50 mpg, but I love my stang too much to let it sit just because of a few bucks.

I drive 50 miles each day, when I drive the stang that is 1 tank and 1/3 tank per week, which is about 70 per week or 280 per month.
carpooling in my girls honda fit is 1 tank per week or 25 dollars a fill up divided between both of us = 50 per month. Its a no brainer, thats 230 bucks saved per month. I love the stang, i figure im saving the abuse of daily driving, nicks, paint chips, mileage etc... all that is a bonus to saving 230 per month in gas.

+$4.05...just as a tribute to what I'm paying for 93 in Staten Island :-)

Hey Oddy I finally got my work done as you can tell from the sig, I have about 125 miles on the FRPP exhaust and I'm loving every second of it.  Sooner or later I'll post my thoughts and all the work done.

Two questions for you about the exhaust: I hear you and I think Sandman saying that the exhaust tone starts to change once it's broken in.  How does it change (deeper?) and how many miles before it's broken in (1000?)?

    Thanks

Well let's see if that is true.

The cost of a gallon of gas in 1958 was $0.14 to $0.19 a gallon.

The cost of gas 50 years later in 2008 is $3.85 to $4.15 a gallon.

Not seeing that downward trend yet :)

Glad you like it, and yea it took me like 1000 - 1500 miles before it started to break in on a different level, it gets deeper with more grumble and just overall sounds better.

Excellent, thanks guys.  This definitely motivates me to drive more, much to gas station owners' delights.  But my money is of no use to me when I'm dead so I may as well enjoy life while I'm here
