Seems in nice enough condition with low miles. Essentially a GN powerplant with AWD. I could mod it into a monster and get a slick black paint job. I haven't seen one running around on the street for at least 10 years. I'm considering it for my next project because if I do an agressive H/C/I on my fox I'll never pass emissions and be stuck with a car I can't drive. With the Typhoon a lot of the mods won't affect emissions and will still be capable of 12's. What say you???

I think they generally go for a little more than that, it looks pretty good. My dad almost bought one about 10 years ago for my mom to drive, but she wanted a regular Blazer for whatever reason

id drive it, it would piss off my best friend since he is into mini truck etc. thats is like the holy grail along with the cyclone, immho id much rather have the truck though
awesome car, but the powerplant is completely different from a grand national
Completely? How so (no sarcasm)? I know GN's had a 3.8 and this is a 4.3 but this makes more power and torque. And to the member who said he'd prefer the Cyclone, although it looks cool the Typhoon when properly set up handles like a demon. Much better than the pickup layout. I don't find the appearance offensive although I am a car guy. It's rare, it's fast, and has a little room. I think paint, suspension mods (for handling) and a few trinkets under the hood would be a good start. Mr. Rogers, your opinion please...

the 3.8 in the GN was designed from the beginning as a 3.8. the 4.3 is essentially a chevy V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off. that is true, bu they are just as cheap and moddable as a GN. body parts may be harder to find though.
*Bump* for more opinions from others who know The Typhoon. Basically looking for a general consenses on whether it seems like a good deal. I'll check it out in person soon...

I never seem to get half the stuff that comes from you. I referred to not having seen a Typhoon in over ten years. What exactly are you trying to say? And here's an old favorite of your's I'll resurect for old times sake.....

I would rather have the cyclone, just because I like the looks of them better. But if that is what you want..... I think that it is a decent deal. Nice ones usually go for 15k I THINK.
Finally talked to the guy. The Ty had been imported to Japan at 34K miles. He brought it back to Canada a year ago. Said the paint is decent although the roof portion looks to have been painted at some point. He also said the rocker shirting appears to have been re and re'd. The turbo apparently makes "decent" boost and there is some lifter noise when cold that dissapates as it warms up. It's had a full service: tune up, brakes, oil, tires etc. For 12.5K I'll find ways to make my '93 faster, the Typhoon sounds like a money pit that's been ****kicked. Pass...
