I was in an accident about a month ago and the lady decided to go through insurance... she claimed at fault... She hit my back left quarter panel right where it meets the bumper, so it hit the bumper also, around the fender well, and took a few chunks out of my rim... I was quoted a new rim... Well now my car is back to new but they discontinued my rim, so they wanted to give me $300 for my one rim and call it hunky dorey... ummm but why should I have to pay the rest of the money for a new set of rims when it wasnt my fault that this chick hit me and they discontinued the rim? I've had people tell me to call my insurance people to fight for me for them to buy me a whole new set... What else could I do if this doesnt work? Sue the chick?

If you got the ****ing money FROM the INS company wtf are you complaining about your one rim DOES NOT cost 300 bux

Umm durr no I haven't gotten the check from them yet, and the shop quoted me $300 for the rim, the insurance company quoted me $179... and I dont want to have to pay for something i shouldn't have to

I say try to get as much as you can from the insurance company. I'm sure you have paid and going to pay far more in insurance payments than what they are paying out for this fender bender. Take them to the cleaners, damn mob leftovers. Some days it seems that insurance is just a legalized form extortion.

Ya thats what I was going to do... I want my car back to how it was before the accident, which is the way it should be, maybe if it was my fault, but it isn't

i dont think youll get a whole new set because it's discontinued... take the money and find something on ebay. if you get the inch dont take the mile

I never told the shop how much I paid for them, they just assumed they were about $300 and I wasn't going to complain... obviously if it was any of your cars you would be bitchin too... So I'm a typical a$$hole because I want all 4 of my rims to match? Well, I guess I am... I want my car to be how it was before I was in the accident, call me a dick or whatever, it wasn't my fault the person hit me

See Cory, you are obviously too retarded to read my post.... the rim is discontinued, if you really need, I will look it up for you, but it means in short that they dont make them any more which is the whole reason I would have to buy a new set... I don't want a used one because I don't want to be ripped off with another crappy rim... They are Eagle Alloy 169 that I purchased about 4 years ago... for Wheels and tires I paid $1300 then, I would rather get a whole new set of Hyercoated GT4 Wheels from AmericanMuscle.com

Haha thats what I'm saying dude =P Now back to my original question... Should I try to get my insurance company to fight with her insurance company to get me a whole new set of wheels or just live with it and put the money I get to some new ones?

what they will actually do, and what you should do are 2 different things. theyre not going to pay for all of them if only one of them got messed up, regardless if theyre discontinued.
