I am not arguing for one side or the other. All I am saying that there is not a major difference between a stock ls1 and the stock 3v 4.6 and it would come down to the driver, that's all.

Those of us that actually go the track know better than to think a LS1 is a 13.7 car. Plese refrain from being a magazine racer. TommyV8 who is a member of this very forum has run a I beleive a 13.3 in his bone stock LS1 Camaro.

The fastest a stock LS1 has been known to run is a 12.9....(just pointing that out...)

So one out of how many were made runs a 12.9? I never said that they strickly run that time posted above. I think you are misunderstanding what I am typing. There is no doubt I would choose the ls1 engine over a 4.6(3v). It is a better platform to build from IMO. I don't even have the 3v, mine is a 2v and I know it will get raped by an ls1. I think they are about equally matched stock for stock. A couple of tenths of a second is not going to be a major difference on these cars. There is only like 10hp and 20lbs of tq difference betweent the two. Not sure on the weight of each car. stock 5.7 ls1=drivers race=stock 4.6(3v)

Mainly because they are not. Equal drivers, LS1 fbody > S197 Equal drivers, SVT Cobra > LS1 Fbody I can't make this any easier for you..

I am not putting professional driver's in the seat, just normal driver's that may see the track once a year.

There is no such thing as equal drivers.
