My source info!

A quote from your source..

"When viewing this list, please keep in mind that day to day testing conditions are not always perfect (or even consistent) due to weather and track conditions! The results that "the experts" have provided may NOT reflect what your car is capable of doing under your conditions. This list is only meant to be a guideline, NOT THE GOSPEL!!! "

In other words, the numbers from your source, are not entirely credible..

I am not arguing for one side or the other. All I am saying that there is not a major difference between a stock ls1 and the stock 3v 4.6 and it would come down to the driver, that's all.

Those of us that actually go the track know better than to think a LS1 is a 13.7 car. Plese refrain from being a magazine racer. TommyV8 who is a member of this very forum has run a I beleive a 13.3 in his bone stock LS1 Camaro.

Didn't his g/fs stock camaro do better than that?

The fastest a stock LS1 has been known to run is a 12.9....(just pointing that out...)

So one out of how many were made runs a 12.9? I never said that they strickly run that time posted above. I think you are misunderstanding what I am typing. There is no doubt I would choose the ls1 engine over a 4.6(3v). It is a better platform to build from IMO. I don't even have the 3v, mine is a 2v and I know it will get raped by an ls1. I think they are about equally matched stock for stock. A couple of tenths of a second is not going to be a major difference on these cars. There is only like 10hp and 20lbs of tq difference betweent the two. Not sure on the weight of each car.

stock 5.7 ls1=drivers race=stock 4.6(3v)

i hope you realize that the LS1 was underrated in the F-Bodies.  ALL LS1's made around 350hp at the crank, no matter what GM claimed.

Since you don't he a LS1 or S197, haven't taken either to the track, rely on magazines and websites who even say their own times are not credible, I don't think you are qualified to say the two cars are evenly matched.

Mainly because they are not.

Equal drivers, LS1 fbody > S197

Equal drivers, SVT Cobra > LS1 Fbody

I can't make this any easier for you..

I am not putting professional driver's in the seat, just normal driver's that may see the track once a year.

This is not a threat or anything but thought it would be funny to add to the thread.
