I want to purchase a Powerhouse Turbo kit, but I wanted to know if this was possible before I go ahead and spend money. I have a s197 v6, and wanted to know if I could run an H-Pipe catback with dual exhausts, the dual exhuasts being from cerivinis sideskirt/side exhausts. I was looking at JBA headers as well. So here is what I'm looking at:

Powerhouse Turbo intercooled for the v6: $5,195
JBA Ceramic headers: $435
JBA H-Pipe: ?
Cervinis Sideskirt/Side exhausts: $1,339

Mind you, I'm driving an automatic. What I want to know is, will this be possible? I've talked to Faszm a couple of times, as I would like to see some of his gains (410rwhp on 12psi)

No point in an "H" pipe with a single turbo kit. The turbo only has one outlet, you can run duals, but you have to install a "Y" pipe after the turbo to split the exhaust. Running the "Y" back into an "H" wouldn't do anything but add weight.

One big cost you're missing is the install cost. I'm pretty sure the PowerHouse price is for kit only, not install time. Most of turbo kits I've done, we charged $1000-1500 for the install. Headers and exhaust install will probably be another $300-500.

Unless of course you're a pretty good mechanic, and you plan on doing the work yourself, in which case: Good Luck!

Thats cheap compared to what they'll probably charge me here in NYC lol! So really I need my Y-Pipe for the single turbo kit? would I be able to run a procharger or vortech supercharger with an H-Pipe? My reason being is because I want at least 390-410hp with a throaty rumble "V8" rumble.

Wow, I hope you have deep pockets. Have you ever actually driven a car with 390+ HP? It's a different experience to say the least. Be prepared to be nailed back in your seat.

With our 4.0's, 390 HP is really pushing it, unless you want to pay for race gas all the time ($5+ a gallon), or you have a tuner who is a god.

About the only way to get there would be with one of the turbo kits, and 11-12 lbs of boost. Not unheard of, but not exactly good for a stock engine.

A turbo car sounds NOTHING like a throaty V8. It sounds awesome, it's just not the same. There's a loud whine as your turbine spins up, and suddenly you shoot off like a rocket. The exhaust doesn't really "pulse" like it would in a V8, since it has to pass through the turbocharger turbine first.

A supercharged car would sound more like what you're looking for, but probably won't get the gains you want. (probably around 320-350ish HP) You could run a supercharger with an "H" pipe, but if you want the most power, I'd suggest an "X", especially if you're boosting the car. An "H" sounds better, but an "X" flows better.

Down the line, if you wanted just a bit more "ooomph", a shot of nitrous always does the trick. (I'm addicted to nitrous, I put it on everything, I'm even considering putting a tank on my lawnmower so when I hit a thick patch of grass, I can just hit the button and mow through)

Oh yea, if you're actually going to push that much power, be ready for other suspension/drivetrain modifications. (driveshaft, axle, brakes, suspension upgrades, frame rails, yada yada yada the list goes on forever)

LMAO that would be frickin' sweet! Nitrous on a lawnmower lol. Thanks man I really have been searching around and getting different responses. So basically a turbo would not be my best bet for more oomph on a stock motor? . I should go supercharger? I just don't want a ricey sounding exhuast. Which supercharger would you recommend? I don't have deep pockets lol, I wish we all did the way the economy is right now. its more a combination of my tax returns and my gf buying me gifts.

I think you misunderstood me. If raw power is what you are after, then a turbo is the way to go.
Turbo's do not neccessarily sound ricey. Like I said, a turbo has a sound of it's own. Last year I did a twin turbo install on a Nissan 350z. I really didn't like the sound of the exhaust on the car, but those little turbos made all the difference in the world. If you don't know what I'm talking about, search for turbo soundclips/videos.

However, the supercharger I'd recommend is probably the Xcharger (from explorer express). Almost 300lbs of torque through the entire rpm range. Simple install. Easy maintenance and reliability. I've actually been thinking about getting this kit and taking one of the stages off my nitrous kit. (I'd have to keep one stage just in case I needed it)

If you're after cheap, nitrous is the way to go. A good kit will run you $4-700. Install around $3-700. Tune $300-600. Power at the push of a button. You can (from what I've heard) run a 75 shot of nitrous on the stock tune. Of course nitrous can be expensive too. I've probably got $1500-2000 invested in my nitrous setup (custom built kit, dual stage, bottle warmer, remote pressure guage, custom dyno tuned, 15lb bottle, etc).

All in all depends on how much you really want to spend.
For a turbo kit, plan on $6500-$9000 (kit + install + tune)
For a supercharger kit, plan on $4000-7000 (kit + install + tune)
For a nitrous kit, plan on $1000-$2000 (kit + install + tune)

Nobody can tell you which is right for you. Each has their own benefits and weaknesses, and it's up to everyone to choose what's right for them.
