I read that 4.10 gears are not the best for harsh driving. What do they mean by this?  I drive my Shelby to work everyday and usually run between 60 and 80mph.  Sometimes going much faster if I'm playing with someone.

Will have the 4.10 gears damage my engine or cause any other problems?

My understanding is that you will be running about 300 rpm higher at cruise. You will have a shorter first gear and you will be seeing the gas pump slightly sooner depending on how you drive. Its not going to hurt your car, but be warned........

Your fun factor will increase 10 fold!

I'm not really worried about having to get gas a little more often.  I was more worried about it causing damage to my engine.  Thanks for the input.

Nope, the bad boy is actually in a performance shop getting the following done.

4.10 Gears
Kooks Headers
Dyno Tuned
Supercharged
14" Brembo Brakes
62mm Throttle Body

I'm on a business trip in Vegas so hopefully when I get back from town it will be ready for me to go play with.

LOL When it's all done and tuned, I'm gonna take it to the track and see how it does in the 1/4 mile.  The GT500 they had ran the 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds at 122mph so I'm hopefully to get similar results.  I doubt they'll be as good, but at least under 12.

Put some drag radials or something to get good times, sounds like you are going to have traction issues with the power you will be putting down....

I'm going to call the performance shop tomorrow morning and talk to them about it.  They are the best in Orland so hopefully they can give me the best advice on what to do.  I'd imagine you're right though.  I had wondered about that myself.

4.10s and a blower, u better have atleast DR tires.  Otherwise u'll prob be spinning 1 through 3rd gear, lol.

I'm looking into 4.10 myself since my gt is a DD, however i dont have or plan on getting ablower..U might from what i've heard look into 3.73s.

They put the 4.10's on it along with the headers and it's great.  The exhaust sounds so much deeper and it takes off like a bat out of hell.  They also ended up putting drag radials on it because of the rwhp.  The tires look great with the rims.  The rims really show off the caliper.  Below are a couple of pictures.  Overall it's great, I absolutely love it.
