Does anyone know if there is a trunk release inside the car or do you just have to use the key or remote pad?
Probably a stupid question but I have read my manual and look pretty hard for this thing. I think it would be real
poor if Ford just didn't put one in!!!

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks

there isnt one..your choices are to use the key, remote entry..or crawl into the trunk and pull the opening tab that is there

SOmebody on the board made thir own trunk release by wiring up a switch to it. You'd probably have to do a search but I'm pretty sure you can find out who it was.

so you can splice onto the white/violet wire it goes from the smart box on the right side to the fuse box under the hood. it is a ground wire so you dont have to run a hot wire under the dash. just use a momentary switch from ground to the white/violet wire and the trunk will open.mount it in the glovebox or centr compatrment. just make sure it wont acidently get bumped buy anything

Afixer, that's an excellent mod! I figured it would require tapping into the trunk wiring, but that is much easier!

well you could tap into the pink /orange wire under the door sill but it is a hot wire. i myself like to use ground wires anytime i can

I've wired this up on my car... I hooked it too a switch inside the armrest storage compartment on the little panel that pulls out... (I figured if I screwed anything up, that panel would be the cheapest part to replace)

went quite easy, hardest part is getting the wire from the back seats under the carpet into the center console...

Unfortunately they were smoking crack that day and accidently put the trunk release INSIDE the trunk. Go figure.

No trunk release in car = somewhat good security call (all of you who have put systems in the trunk)

Trunk release IN trunk = manditory trunk release for someone accidentally being locked in trunk or someone stupid enough to abduct someone and put in trunk without noticing

that it's there for them to use to escape/get out

In the earlier days, they used to put the trunk release button in the glove compartment so you could lock it. I'm not sure if the glove compartment on the 05 is lockable. I'm still waiting for mine.
