The best insight into gay mens attitudes was from a buddy of mine who came out in college.
A few years after graduation we were talking and he was talking about hooking up with a dude, and I asked him "Dude, why do you gay guys have SO much butt sex?!"
He looked at me very seriously and was like "Dude, just because I am gay doesn't mean I am not a GUY. If you went on a date with a good looking girl, and within two minutes of meeting her it was clear she would have sex with you, would you do it?"
"Hell yeah," I said, "ASAP."
"Yeah well, in this case, it is TWO guys. Think about it."
I thought about it. "Ohhhh... interesting."
That is the thing; gay or not, they are still dudes, and dudes wanna have sex all the time.
Now about the gay acting thing, I don't know, but I CAN tell you I have met 8 and 9 year olds who are swishy. Hell, I've seen six year olds who are clearly swishy gay. But I don't know WHY they are like that.
And no, sleeping in the same bed with a gay guy doesn't make you gay. Wanting to bang a guy in the ass makes you gay.
BTW, why is it when we talk about gay we never talk about hot lezzies?
Oh, and I had the good fortune of meeting Sarah Chalke and hanging with her. She was the lead in a play a buddy of mine wrote (who wasn't gay, which is pretty unique for a playwrite.) She was SMOKING hot, and AWESOME, and was carrying a model of a blown Mach 1 (the play involved muscle cars and my buddy gave a car to each cast member; guess who consulted on that play?:) ) She was about as amazing as you would expect... so down to earth and cool. Also hung with her dad for ten minutes.
