Jsierzega 04-25-2008, 01:25 PM i was more curious on what brand everyone went with and why they chose what they did Sancho805 04-25-2008, 01:52 PM i've read good reviews for shaftmasters. i'm currently leaning towards that one. jwilhelm 04-25-2008, 02:05 PM Hi guys, I guess what was said about voting for what we installed is true. I installed a Shaftmasters and that is what I voted for. But, in my opinion, it was a very good choice. I've had mine on now for about 9 months, really put the horsepower to it, and layed many dual line testimonies to its strength and durability. So, I highly recommend either the 4 inch (the cheapo which I have, 3 1/2 inch was available when I bought mine) or 3 1/2 inch. Both are good. Here's a pic of mine. Take care, Jack. local://upfiles/63501/B515DB9792344EC990E1C97C0F0A0737.jpg elroyjetson_1978 04-25-2008, 02:46 PM the Shaftmasters d/s is the cheapest and has great reviews. JimC 04-25-2008, 03:28 PM I voted Shaftmasters - that is what I have and it has taken on many passes at the track and proven itself many times over. Feels great on the street/highway as well, the car immediately felt smoother after the install, and accelerated quicker. Great price, great company and great people to deal with. I was trying to remember earlier. thanks for chiming in! you have the 4", correct? my first mustang 04-25-2008, 05:11 PM I have the Shaftmasters and it has the best price by far. $386.00 and got free shipping too. Car is much smoother, it got rid of a vibration at 70-75 mph and is very easy to install. No brainer! JimC 04-25-2008, 08:35 PM Right Sancho, I have the 4" and have been very happy with it. My car isn't lowered, otherwise I'd be looking at the 3.5" from Shaftmasters. hutcccch 04-25-2008, 11:52 PM what if your car is lowered? Jsierzega 04-26-2008, 12:13 AM 386!! where did you get that price! ORIGINAL: my first mustang I have the Shaftmasters and it has the best price by far. $386.00 and got free shipping too. If your car is lowered the best bet is the 3.5" Shaftmasters. Someone on the board has it on his car and was the "test" car for that size shaft. Cleared everything no problems. There was an instruction for relocating emergency brake cables and other adjustments to make the 4" fit, but the best way is to get the 3.5" and not have to mess with the brake cables. http://www.shaftmasters.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=17&zenid=94cb303a7 4ef2257b894b25434197891 As with all things, prices have gone up. The 4" shaft for the V6 is now $445 and the 3.5" is $555. I think they still have the best price around, and I know it is a great product. Jsierzega 04-26-2008, 11:18 AM thanks JimC mygt500 04-29-2008, 10:45 PM Shaftmasters is all in the name....great DS and thats what I voted for but any of them will do for any application and all are great for street and strip! JMO just go with the one that is the cheapest at the time you are ready to buy. J 4LITER6 04-30-2008, 08:15 AM www.driveshaftshop.com (http://www.driveshaftshop.com) Nice shafts.... |
