Do not race if you do not know how to. Go to the track and practice, until you get it right. You're going to make an ass out of yourself, so be ready - but keep practicing. On a side note: You don't want to shift at redline, but you don't want to shift to early either. If you shift to early (while you're shifting at the peak of your power band) your leaving yourself in a low rpm in the next gear. I always shifted a few hundred rpm shy of redline, this way I wasn't nailed the revlimiter and I was keeping myself in the race by not premature shifting.. (some of these guys have a problem with doing things premature [8|] lol)
