Steeda makes a V6 driveshaft?
phunnyguy
04-24-2008, 11:15 PM
ok cool...this is what im looking for....in terms of answers.....
who makes the driveshaft your looking at getting, how do you like the steeda cai,do you own the tuner and does it store your stock tune?do you drive it daily?
also doen anyone know if saleen makes a watts link for the v6...saw an arcticle on it for the 8...test drove a parnelli jones that has it and liked it....and if they did make it anyone know if you need to lower the car to have this....
this may be my 1st suspension mod if they make it....
Haven't done a whole lot to my 2006 DD Pony Package so far, but some of these mods (namely the dual conversion) have cost way, way more than they ever should have and burnt up some mod money, so I've got to go slow and steady for now.
- Dual Borla Stingers and FRPP X-pipe
- Clear front corners
- Chase sequentials
- Shorty antenna
- Tint in the very near future
- Rear honeycomb panel is probably coming up soon too
- Locking gas cap ;) (in my closet, but not installed; probably this weekend)
I think that's it so far. Come on lottery...

Haven't done much to my PP yet... mostly appearance mods. Check my site for photos.
I'm really being careful not to overdo it.... appearance wise!
For my next mod, I will be installing the 3d Carbon front air dam.
I'm debating if I should paint it black to match the stock rockers.

Hey Phunny how did you like the Saleen Parnelli Jones edition?
missed this one...sorry
uuummm it was an excellent experience behind the wheel, the shifter was nice and tight and the suspension especially the rear handled unreal....i really wish there was a watts link for 6ers.....if i made more money and could afford the insurance i would snatch one up, as well as one of the orange limited shelbys...and a bullit, although i havent driven those i have spoken to owners of them.....
the test/demo drive sold me on saleenmustangs in general, and they all have a great sound parnelli included.....it was fun....i highly reccomend it if you can afford one, or any of the parts that they sell seperately for gts....they do sell some of the things on the parnelli seperately
it handled like glue in the turns...way better than my pp...not that my pp doesnt handle..but i felt confident at slightly higher speeds in turns than i would with my car.....what i remember the most was the shrt throw shifter....(which i dont think they make for the 6 either) and the handling....
i dont remeber what the parnelli has under the hood, but i know it has some serious power.....and it too sounded great.
wow nice...but why rims i think those go nicely, unless you want bigger or something......

I love my PP and yes it's my DD even in winter which it did great in, I was very impressed.:D...even though I hated seeing it so dirty and covered in salt. [:@]
As a shrinking wallet limits my mods (listed in my sig)I hope to be able to do a couple this year. I'm still struggling with what striping to do on mine. I really like like bumper to bumper but I also want something a little different and have really been leaning toward BSM's superstripe on the hood only. I also really want to get torque limiters and a short throw shifter (either Hurst or MGW) This has been rising on my want list as I get tired of the notchy shifting.
BTW phunnyguy, I wanted to say good job on your exhaust and your videos of it. My son and I were watching it the other day and it sounds great!

Yes, you can feel a huge difference with the aluminum shaft. When I had it installed it was amazing how much "lighter" the car felt, and it accelerates much quicker. The ride is smoother too; I hit the expressway right after putting the 4" Shaftmasters on and the car hit highway speed so quick, and beyond with no vibration that I though for sure I'd get a ticket. If you feel any vibration now the aluminum DS will take it out - I had a vibration that of course the dealership could never feel and said the only vibration they could detect was my exhaust - when I took the service manager out with the new Shaftmasters, he admitted that there had to be a driveshaft vibration before because he couldn't feel anythingafter the DS swap.
The car accelerates quicker - I swapped the driveshaft and when I went to the track that weekend I hit a new personal best and the only change was the DS.

I heard new cars usually have a check in the gas filler that won't let you run a syphon hose down into the gas tank. You might not really need a locking gas cap.
