I would hope Mr. Sparkle is talking about hydrogen, not water...as in Hydrogen fuel cell cars. And yes, they are out there. Honda is giving away 3,000 of them to be tested as we speak. Why aren't they mass produced? Becuase they are not efficient. Right now we put more energy into seperating hydrogen from oxygen than we get from hydrogen alone...
Hydrogen while it seems like a nice idea, is not the REAL future. The REAL future is in Solar. Solar is the ultimate in renewable energy......... It doesn't matter how many people use it at the same time. How cool is that yo?
For the amount of energy needed, you would need MASSIVE amounts of surface area to put those solar panels.
No so much true anymore. There is a new type of solar cell that is in the prototype stage, possibly mass produced in the next few years (Saw a program about it on the Discovery channel last night). Its a printable solar cell, produced in a similar fasion as OLED's. diesel prices have nothing to do with the truckers, i don't see why everyone is freaking out about it.
you have major companies that hire people to pull their trailers with a company tractor. the major company pays the gas bill
you have the owner/operators who own their own truck, pull a trailer for a company and get paid by the company per run. the smart o/o drivers put only enough diesel in their truck to cover their runs and use that as a tax write off.
the only time diesel prices affect truck drivers is if it's a o/o driver who fills the tank each and every time
